Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

BTW, I still get a ton of McAfee warnings that "VeryLince" has been detected and cleaned in windows files….I'm not sure if I mentioned this to you, I remember saying it to Little Eagle. Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Use Add/Remove Programs and see if you can remove: SurfSideKick

SurfSideKick is not in the Add/Remove Programs list…..

Reboot into Safe Mode

Open Reglite and Copy&Paste the bold text below into the Address Bar and hit Enter

In the smaller left hand pane-> Right Click the Windows folder

Select Rename-> Rename it to Windoz-> Hit Enter

Now look in the larger right hand pane-> locate and double click AppInit_DLLs

Under Value-> Remove(Delete)-> repairs.dll

Close RegLite


Open the Search Assistant(Click Start>>Click Search)
Select All Files and Folders,
Select Advanced Options,
Make sure there is a check by every box under Advanced options

Now under All Files and Folders, enter this into the text box:

repairs.dll

Delete any exact matches

Reboot and Open Reglite again-> go back to the folder you renamed to Windoz and Rename it again, back to Windows


Go to HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click “Kill process” for each. (If found) .

Have HijackThis fix these entrys (if its still there)

Go to My Computer and double-click C.
Go to the Tools menu and select 'Folder Options'.
On the 'View' tab select 'show hidden files and folders' and deselect (uncheck) 'hide protected operating system files (recommended)'.

Using Windows Explorer, find and delete each of the following. If you can't delete an item, right-click it and click properties. Make sure 'read-only' is unchecked.
If you still can't delete something, right-click it and rename it to a random word. Then drag the item to a different location. Try deleting it now. If you still can't, be sure to let me know.

Using Windows Explorer, delete the following files/folders in bold

C:\Windows\System32\repairs.dll <== file.
C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 3\ <== folder


Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Close all windows and browsers.
Open HijackThis

Click on Open Misc Tools
Click on Delete a File On Reboot
Click once on the file below to select it:

C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 3\SskBho.dll
C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 3\Ssk.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\NKTRAP.DLL

Click on the Back button to exit Process Manager

Now, back at the main screen of HijackThis, proceed to Scan.
and put a check by these.

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"



Then double-click on the killbox.exe program.


Start Killbox and click on Tools->Delete Temp Files.
Then select the option labeled Delete on reboot.

Do not close killbox, and open notepad, by clicking on Start, then Run, and typing notepad.exe and pressing the OK button.


When notepad is open, copy and paste the following bolded text into the notepad screen. You do this by highlighting each of the below bolded filenames and then pressing Control-C on your keyboard. Then click on the open notepad windows and press Control-V to paste the contents into the notepad.

Return to Killbox, go to the File menu and select Paste from Clipboard.

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually

Scan and post a new HJT log.

click on start, run, and Copy/Paste the bold into the open window.

and then press ok. It will display a code that the user should enter and after a reboot it will be uninstalled.
