Need help with log

When I restart my computer an icon pops up and says "Freeprod.com is now loading" I also get two little icons on the bottom of my desktop that say mc58-1200.exe. I guess these are all viruses. Anyway, here is my log and thank you much!

Let's start with the "standard" programs, and go from there:

Please download and run Spybot-Search&Destroy and Ad-Aware; they are the standard programs for finding and cleaning malware off your system. Here are links to both programs, and instructions for their use.

Get Spybot - Search & Destroy from Spybot Search and Destroy
(This is the NEW Version 1.4)
Get AdAware SE Personal from Lavasoft
(This is the NEW Build 1.6)

Download and install these programs if you don't already have them. If you do have them, make sure they are UPDATED AND CONFIGURED AS DESCRIBED here:

Configure Adaware

Configure Spybot

Reboot after running each program.

Try this online virus scan:

Trend-Micro Housecall

Choose "fix" or "clean".

Let it remove any infections found.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new Hijack This! log file into this thread. :)

OK, I did all that you said and here's my log again. One thing, when I went to scan my computer at trendmicro.. It started scanning C:/Uploads and when it did my virus count went into the thousands!! If there's any way I can deal with that, please let me know as well. Here's my log and thanks again for all the help…

Download Killbox from here:

Killbox.zip

Unzip it, but don't run it yet.

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [p2pnetworking] p2pnetworking.exe

Then click "Fix checked" and close Hijack This!.

Now, run Killbox.

In Killbox select "Delete on Reboot".

Paste the next line into the "Full Path of File to Delete" text box.

c:\windows\system32\p2pnetworking.exe

Click the red dot with the white X in it, in the upper right of Killbox, then click "Yes", and "Yes" again.

When the machine reboots, "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread. :)

AVG Free Antivirus

I don't recommend installing that on a "dirty" (infected) system.

If at all possible, you should run at least one of these online virus scans until it removes all it can:

Trend-Micro Housecall

Panda Activescan

Etrust Security Advisor

Bitdefender

Choose "fix" or "clean".

Let them remove any infections found. Reboot after each scan.

If the scan you choose is unable to remove something, let me know what it is, and I will try to assist.

When I try to delete the file using Killbox I get this message:

PendingFeleRenameOperationsRegistryData has been removed by external process!

I don't actually know what that means. hehe. But anyway I deleted the stuff in hijack this and here is my new log. THanks again. :)

If you can get the online scan to get rid of all it finds, you can install Avg Free

Download/install IE-Spyad

IE-Spyad puts over 4000 known malicious web sites into IE's "restricted zone" to help prevent you from getting infected.

Check your browser settings at Qualsys.com

A series of "tests" (and suggested fixes) to help tweak IE's settings to help prevent infections when surfing the web.

Follow safe Internet practices:

1. Keep your virus definitions up to date, and scan your system regularly.

2. Don't open email, or download attachments from unrecognized email addresses.

3. Be careful when downloading email attachments, EVEN FROM PEOPLE YOU KNOW! Many virii, worms, and trojans infect a persons system then immeadiately spread themselves to the people in the infected persons addressbook via email attachments.

4. Be careful downloading files from the Internet. Scan all downloaded files with a reliable UP-TO-DATE antivirus program. Scan "zip" files BEFORE unzipping, and scan all unzipped files BEFORE USING THEM.

5. Keep your Windows and IE current with all the latest patches and updates.

The trend micro scan doesn't seem to clean anything. When it starts scanning, I get this message: Clean Failed: WORM_MUGLY.I Then it scans and when it gets to C:\Uploads i get up to 5400 viruses. After it scans i hit 'clean' and it just freezes and then my browser shuts down. I should point out that my computer is running fine right now, but I would love to get rid of those viruses. Anyway, I really appreciate all your help and thank you again. I'll try another online scan and report back here if i have another problem. cheers :)

Hmm.. Now the other ones don't scan at all. Bitdefender gave me this message: Service Pack 2 was detected on this computer. Click on the information bar and select "Install ActiveX Control…". I already have active x because i needed it to scan at trendmicro i believe.

How about a list of the names of the infected files? I don't mean to get "personal", but is there any specific types of files you have in "C:\Uploads"? :unsure:
