I notice that you are using more than one antivirus program. This is very dangerous, as multiple AVs can interfere with one another and actually allow MORE viruses to get through. I strongly suggest you either (1) configure only one antivirus program to enable automatic realtime scanning, and leave the rest disabled most of the time, or (2) go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs and uninstall all but one antivirus program.
OK as you sugested in this thread, and in IRC, i removed the norcrap antivirus, and Norcrap internet sercurity. That being done, i was able to get back on line :-) Thank You Sir for your advice and help in that matter.

I removed some other apps that looked to not be so good, just to play it safe. This pc came to me in a real mess. The owner of it uses napster, music match , kazaa and other file shairing progies that lead to many problems. Many things have been removed on the side of caution (if im to error, id rather error on the side of caution)

Now that im able to get on line, i updated adaware, AVG Anti Virus, spyware blaster, S&D w/ teatimmer, and updated windows. With the updates, each scan found tons of new stuff they were unable to find before, and fixed/removed said problems. I rebooted and reran scans, just to be sure nothing came back. Sadly after the next boot, tons of stuff started up with the pc that was unexpected 1800searchassistant.com or some such… lots of new icons on the desk top , that if you rt click on them, only offer delete, but not properties, to check the path … ie: has some new search bar … its a real mess. I run the scans, they clean the pc, i reboot and more problems are there again. If i start ie up… tons of carp** happens :-(

So far i have installed AVG, S&D, spyware blaster, startup monitor and ccleaner. with the newest release of each.

here are the newest HJT Logs. Please take a look at them, and tell me if any thing more is nessisary to make this pc secure and clean.

WOLFGAR
THankyou .. all and any help would be a God Sent, This one is kicking my back side BIG TIME. I now have nearly 23 hours invested in this fix :-(
We'll have more to fix.

I suggest you do this:

Open Spybot S&D, click Mode>Advanced>Tools>Resident and remove the check from the Tea Timer box. You can reinstate it later but we don't want it interfering with what we need to do. Reboot when done

Affter reboot:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Use Add/Remove Programs and remove: If listed
Media Pass
Media Access
Media Gateway
180searchassistant

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\WINNT\about.htm

Search for and delete these folders if listed:
C:\Program Files\Media Pass

New bad guys, but we have them on the run

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Then please run Ewido, click on the Scanner run a full scan and let it clean everything it finds. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.
