Click here to download Killbox by Option^Explicit.
Extract the program to your desktop and double-click on its folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
In the field labeled Full Path of File to Delete enter the file paths listed below ONE AT A TIME (EXACTLY as it appears, please double check to make sure!):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\msfnkflt9.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wpanetsh.exe

Press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it after each one. When it asks if you would like to delete on reboot, press the YES button, when it asks if you want to reboot now, press the NO button. Do this after each one until you have entered the LAST file path I have listed above. After that LAST file path has been entered, press the YES button at both prompts so that your computer restarts.
If you get a "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" message then just restart manually.

After the reboot, double click the Regfix.reg file and allow it to merge into the registry.

Scan with Hijackthis and post the new log as a reply to this thread.

What regs keys would you like me to delete?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Aprps
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Aprps\Client PartnerId WB.VER2

If they reappear again, run Rootkit Revealer again and send me the new log to look at.
Open Notepad and copy the following text into it. Go up to "File > Save As" and click the drop-down box to change the 'Save As Type' to 'All Files'. Save it as Fix2.reg on your desktop.

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CoPh2A36HM8D]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MSSYCLM\Start]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_ASCCDRV]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\asccdrv]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Aprps]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Aprps\Client PartnerId WB.VER2]

Reboot the computer into Safe Mode (tap F8 during bootup, use arrow keys to select Safe Mode, then hit 'enter').

Double-click the Fix2.reg file on your Desktop.
When it prompts to merge say yes.
If you have a popup from any of your protection programs asking if you want to make a change to the registry, say Yes or Accept it

Double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.

C:\Program Files\Ipoantec\ace.dll
C:\Program Files\Ipoantec\atl.dll
C:\Program Files\Ipoantec\data.bin
C:\Program Files\Ipoantec\erslanui.exe
C:\Program Files\Ipoantec\sfcmem.exe
C:\Program Files\Ipoantec\WinGenerics.dll

Press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it after each one. When it asks if you would like to delete on reboot, press the YES button, when it asks if you want to reboot now, press the NO button. Do this after each one until you have entered the LAST file path I have listed above. After that LAST file path has been entered, press the YES button at both prompts so that your computer restarts.
If you get a "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" message then just restart manually.

After the computer reboots, delete the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Ipoantec

Let me know if the problem is gone and how the computer is working.
Arps is gone! but this dumpprep is still here, and i think we tried to get rid of it before

The dumprep entry is nothing malicious but it may slow down your computer. One other entry that needs to be removed which was created by rootkitrevealer when it was run.

You can remove the dumprep entry by doing the following procedure if you choose:
  • Right click on My Computer and select Properties.
  • Click the Advanced tab.
  • Click on the Settings button under 'Startup and Recovery'.
  • In the bottom pane - under 'Write debugging information' - click on the down arrow and then select 'None'
  • OK your way out

Open HijackThis, run a scan and check the following:

O23 - Service: DFAOKJFXO - Sysinternals - www.sysinternals.com - C:\DOCUME~1\Suspect\LOCALS~1\Temp\DFAOKJFXO.exe

With all other programs and browsers closed, click Fix checked.

Reboot the computer and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.
Let me know how the computer is behaving now.

No unknown pop-ups. I think the computer is fine now alothogh it does seem a little sluggish at times.
Two lines in the log that I kept overlooking. :(

Open HijackThis, run a scan and check the following:

Download CCleaner to clean temp files from your computer.
  • Double click on the file to start the installation of the program.
  • Select your language and click OK, then next.
  • Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
  • Click next to use the default install location. Click Install then finish to complete installation.
  • Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program.
  • Click Options < Advanced and uncheck "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours".
  • Click Run Cleaner to run the program.
  • After it has completed it's process, click Exit.
Caution : It is not recommended to use the 'Issues' tab as it is known to find legitimate items.

Reboot the computer and post one more HijackThis log so I can make sure the computer is indeed clean now.
I will take it that your computer is working well now. :)

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove bad files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected.)

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. On the System Restore tab, put a check mark in the 'Turn Off System Restore' check box.
3. Click OK, and then click Yes.
4. Restart the computer.
5. Repeat steps 1 - 2, this time clearing the box beside 'Turn Off System Restore', click 'OK'.

MOST IMPORTANT: You Need to Update Windows and IE to get all the Latest Security Patches to protect your computer from the malware that is on the internet.
I recommend going to the following link and update to SP2. This adds more security and extra features including a pop-up blocker for Internet Explorer.
Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer Updates

Here is a great link that explains the procedure for updating to SP2.
Here is a link that better explains the reasons for installing SP2.

If you are on a slow connection or dial-up, you may want to Order the Windows XP SP2 CD from Microsoft. This is provided free of charge from Microsoft.

I suggest that you download these programs to help keep the computer clean:

Spyware Blaster - Blocks bad ActiveX items from installing on your computer. Spyware Blaster runs silently in the background.
ie-spyad - Puts over 12,000 bad URLs into your restricted sites for Internet Explorer.
Google Toolbar - Blocks many unwanted pop-ups in Internet Explorer.
Firefox - 'Safer' alternative to the Internet Explorer web browser.

Here are two very good and free malware scanners:

Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4
AdAware SE v1.06
Set-up Instructions for Spybot S&D; and Adaware SE

If you have them already, check to make sure that they are the newest version.

Update these regularly.

You may also want to read the following posts to learn how to better secure your computer.
"So how did I get infected in the first place"
"Securing Your PC After An Attack"

Be sure to keep Windows and your Anti-virus updated.
