Copy the contents of the following quote box into Notepad:

Save it to your desktop as regdll.bat

Now the regdll.bat file. A DOS window will open as these DLL's are being registered.

The "initpki.dll" registration may take a few minutes to complete, so be patient.

When these commands are complete, you'll get this message:

Press any key to continue . . .

Close the DOS window (and all other programs/windows) and restart your machine.

Yes, it worked!! Thank you. I can't believe it did. Can you tell me why this happened? Do you think it was a virus. Things are still working very slow. Should I do a defragment and check the disc for errors, to try to speed things up? This is a miracle. :D

I'm not sure why this happens to some people. Could you please post a new Hijack This! log, and I'll check it over for things that may still be a problem. Please get the complete log file this time. The first one you posted was incomplete. :)

There's no malware in the log….

A few "optional" items to remove that might speed things up:

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

Then click "Fix checked" and close Hijack This!.

Reboot.

This can be removed via "Add/Remove Programs", then reboot.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe


Another way to help free up resources is to navigate to this folder:

C:\WINDOWS\prefetch <– folder

Then, delete all the files in that folder.

DO NOT DELETE THE FOLDER!!

Just delete all the files in the folder.

Sorry for the delay in response. I did not know you had replied right away. I did what you said with the exception of removing items from Prefetch. It was a big help. I have now gone into the StartUp registry and removed unnecessary items from there. I will do a Disk Defragment and Scan Disk and I think the machine will be in good shape. Thank you for your help. I love your display. Thank you to the Evilware Exorcist! I am new to this forum.
