Hi there, MICAH, it's me again! Not sure if you remember me, but we were going to meet for coffee! LOL…okay, I will cut to the chase…

I seem to be having trouble again. This is what I did:

I ran a dll compare and it came up with a file I believe we got rid of last time we got together!

I will post that information here…

* DLLCompare Log version()
Files Found that Windows does not See or cannot Access
*Not everything listed here means you are infected!

That was the "bad" file that gave us so much grief last time we chatted.

Before we kill it for good, please do this:

Run Hijack This!.

Click on Open Misc Tools section

To the right of Generate Startuplist log, there are two boxes.

Check them both, then click Generate Startuplist log.

"Copy/paste" the startuplist log into this thread.

That will tell us if the bug has "done you wrong" once more.
:)
Hey there handsome, hope this tells you something!

Your file associations are intact, so do this:

Copy the text in the following quote box into Notepad:

attrib -s -h C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\iexplore.exe
dir C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\iexplore.exe
del C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\iexplore.exe
dir C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\iexplore.exe
pause

Save it to your desktop as ff.bat.

Now, the ff.bat file on the desktop.

Right before it says "Press any key to continue . . ." (in the DOS window), it should say "File not found".

Tell me it does (or doesn't).

Please download/unzip this:

RegScan.vbs

on Regscan.vbs, and search for this:

c:\WINDOWS\system32\iexplore.exe

Paste the contents of the results into your next post.

Ummm..Micah, where do I find Notepad..and how do I use it? I see there is a notepad on my taskbar at the top, but it has stuff on it when I click on it? I don't think I have used it before? Jacqueline
I (hopefully) attached "ff.txt" to this post so you can download it.

Download it to the desktop, on it, choose "Rename", and rename it to "ff.bat".

The forum won't let me attach ".bat" files to posts…

Then it.

Micah, Okay, got past that notepad thingy..and I got the FILE NOT FOUND THINGY! Now..when I unzipped the file and entered what you wanted me to, Norton Antivirus put an ALERT…Malicious script detected. I tried to allow this activity once, but it still won't allow it? NOW WHAT? Jacqueline

I ran a dll compare and it came up with a file I believe we got rid of last time we got together!

Run dll compare again to see if it finds it.. It shouldn't…

Hi there, MICAH, it's me again! Not sure if you remember me, but we were going to meet for coffee!

I'll have a cup of choco-macademeia nut coffee , with about 4 spoons of Coffee-Mate in it, and do you have any Biscotti to dunk in that?
