Thank you LDTate, I had no huge problems, but there is an issue with the taskbar constantly sending message balloons about wireless network availability. I followed the instructions in PC world for disabling it: ie unchecking the notify boxes in the wireless networks advanced settings General tab. And I selected "always hide" for wireless icons using Desktop, Properties, Customise. But the selection always reverts to " Hide when inactive". But I still get the annoying balloons - any ideas? John…
Hi LD, I am referring to the notification balloons (about no wireless connections available) I get everytime open up my laptop and at other times. I usually use Ethernet and have the wireless card switch off and want to get rid of the annoying messages. John…
Lets look at what's in the startup. click Start> Run> type in Msconfig tap enter key. look in the Startup. List everything there and point out which ones have a check next to it.
LD, In the MS config there 35 entries with checkmarks and I'd rather not type them all in. It doesn't allow me to paste - is there a way to paste from MS config? There is one entry that stands out: It has blank fields for "Startup item" and "Command" but there is a Location listing for it that is the same as the others. JM
