Hi,

I am finished looking over your log and have some suggestions to make.
If you have any questions about any step, please ask before you execute the instruction.
It might also help you to print out these instructions

You are running multiple anti-virus programs, which is a problem because they may interfere with each other.
Please choose one to keep and set the others not to run at startup or uninstall them.

You have a couple of file sharing Apps on your computer.
Please read this page about file sharing apps.
The two have have chosen appear to by spyware free, but there may be better choices out there.
  • Even if you have run these previously, please follow the instructions to make sure that you have the latest program versions and updates, as well as the correct settings in each of these two programs:
    • Download the new version (1.4) of 'Spybot: Search And Destroy'.
    • Install it according to the instructions in 'How To Setup Spybot SD and Ad-Aware SE'.
    • Next, 'Search for Updates' as the definitions are not likely to be up-to-date.
    • Close ALL windows except Spybot SD
    • Click the "Check for Problems" button
    • Click 'Fix Selected Problems' and fix only the RED items.
    • REBOOT to finish removing what Spybot SD found and clear memory
    Ad-Aware SE by Lavasoft:
    • Download 'Ad-Aware SE'.
    • Install according to the instructions in "How To Setup Spybot SD and Ad-Aware SE"
    • Next, 'Check for Updates' by clicking on the 'world globe' second from the right at the top of your Ad-Aware SE window.
    • Install the updates.
    • Close ALL windows except Ad-Aware SE
    • Click on 'Start' and choose 'full scan' for a full scan.
    • Quarantine anything that it finds and SAVE the log file.
    • REBOOT to finish removing what Ad-Aware SE found and clear memory.
  • Download Hoster and run it. When it opens, click on the Restore Original Hosts button and then exit Hoster.
Once you have completed these steps, please post a new log.

The ones you have installed are all good programs, this is how I would make my decision.

1. If any of the programs have expired subscriptions, I would uninstall them. There are some good free AntiVirus programs out there.
2. I would be more inclined to keep a program I had paid for (at least until the subscription runs out then see point 1. :D ).
3. After that I would just keep the one that I was most familiar with or that is easiest to use.

Whichever one you decide to use. Update it daily, or set it up to automatically update daily. This is extremely important when dealing with file sharing as a lot of new stuff is spread through file sharing first.

Now, let's do some work on your log.

run HijackThis.

*Click Do a system scan only .
*Place a check in the box before each of these Items.

I think this may be related to your bank. If you do online banking with isbank, keep this, otherwise check it with the rest to be fixed.

*Close all open programs and browser windows (including this one) and fix the Items by clicking the Fix checked button..

Reboot your system normally to complete the fix..

Run HijackThis and post a new log
thanks and can u recommend a new program to me?Because my programs' expiration dates are old and i cant use them. Thanks

Seftali,

Here are a couple of free well respected anti-virus programs:I personally run AVG and like it a lot.

Your new log looks clean!

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)

1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
  • Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperative that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.

  • Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is susceptible to being hacked and taken over. I am very serious about this and see it happen almost every day with my clients. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly.

For a tutorial on Firewalls and a listing of some available ones see the link below:

    Understanding and Using Firewalls

  • Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.

  • Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Install and download Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option. This will provide real time spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software.

A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:

Using Spybot - Search & Destroy to remove Spyware , Malware, and Hijackers

I know I had you download and install this earlier, please consider turning on the tea timer option which will provide you with real time protection.
If you would like instructions for doing this, please ask and I will be happy to help :D

  • Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.

A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:

Using SpywareBlaster to protect your computer from Spyware and Malware

  • Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.
Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.

Glad I was able to help.
