OMG! That scan just hogged all my system resources and it kept real slow time. It said the scan was done in 9:56:16 when it actually took longer! I started at 13:32:35 on Thursday and finished on Friday morning at 02:42:39. Whew! Anyways, here's the log of infected files from the bottom panel: Object "Alexa Spyware/Adware" found in File System! Action Taken: No Action Taken. Ok, mostly just items in the cache. Download: CCleaner (freeware)
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4191.html
Once installed, run CCleaner click the Windows
Select the following:
[external image: Posted Image]
Next: click Options click the Settings tab
Uncheck: "Only delete files older than 48 hrs.", click Ok
Then click Run Cleaner (bottom right) then Exit. That should clean up the remaining items in the MWav log that are of concern.
Ok, I downloaded the CCleaner and here's that log: CLEANING COMPLETE - (2.520 secs) —————————————————————————————— 0.28MB removed. Let's see…give me something to download and I can check and see if I get that error code when I want to download something in Firefox. I can run Adobe Acrobat and with the PDF dowload extension…I can have the pdf downloaded and read it later, that way it doesn't freeze Firefox. That toolbar on the bottom of IE disappeared…I am happy to see that gone. My Yahoo mail looks different; but that's okay…it looks "cleaner". Also, which of the programs that I have downloaded should I run regularly to keep my pc running good? Thanks!
Glad to hear things are running better. If you go to sourceforge.net and download something, you should get a good idea of what speed you have. Try downloading filezilla. As for the firefox issue, I am not sure, so you may want to go to mozilla.org and try their forums for help on that. Can you download the latest updates for Windows and Internet Explorer, then post a new HJT log? Your system is a bit out of date.
Okie dokie…I downloaded the FileZilla zip and I didn't get the error box in Firefox, so that issue is taken care of.
After doing that CCleaner my Yahoo mail isn't working right…that may just be a Yahoo problem…I guess.
I installed the Windows Service Pack 2 and the critical updates.
Here is my recent HJT log:

The problem with my Yahoo email happens in Firefox (my browser of choice). In IE it is fine…I just use IE for MSN games or for when I run across a website that won't let me access with Firefox. What happens is that my Yahoo email page is white…my choice of background and content don't show up. I can't reply, forward or move my email around either.
Well, to be honest I don't know that much about troubleshooting Firefox problems. www.mozilla.org has support forums that might be a better source of information. YOu could try deleting your prefs.js file and trying it again or reinstalling Firefox. For now, you appear to be malware-free!
Thank-you so much for taking the time to help me! I think I will be doing an uninstall/install of Firefox. Out of all the programs that I installed; what should I run on a regular basis? How often? Daily? Weekly?
Below I have included a number of recommendations for how to protect your computer in order to prevent future malware infections. Please take these recommendations seriously; these few simple steps can stave off the vast majority of spyware problems. As happy as we are to help you, for your sake we would rather not have repeat customers. :P
  • On a regular basis, please navigate to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download all the "critical updates" for Windows, including the latest version of Internet Explorer. This can patch many of the security holes through which attackers can gain access to your computer.
  • In order to protect yourself against spyware, you should consider installing and running the following free programs:
    • Ad-Aware SE. A tutorial on using Ad-Aware to remove spyware from your computer may be found here. You have this installed currently. Please keep it updated and run it on a regular basis. Once a week would be fine.
    • Spybot-Search & Destroy. A tutorial on using Spybot to remove spyware from your computer may be found here. Please also remember to enable Spybot's "Immunize" and "TeaTimer" features. You have this installed currently. Please keep it updated and run it on a regular basis. Once a week would be fine.
    • SpywareBlaster. A tutorial on using SpywareBlaster to prevent spyware from ever installing on your computer may be found here.
    • SpywareGuard. A tutorial on using SpywareGuard for realtime protection against spyware and hijackers may be found here.
Keeping these programs up-to-date and running them regularly can prevent a great deal of spyware hassle.
  • Also make sure to run your antivirus software regularly, and to keep it up-to-date.
  • Finally, consider maintaining a firewall. Some good free firewalls are ZoneAlarm, Kerio, and Sygate. A tutorial on understanding and using firewalls may be found here.

Hopefully this should take care of your problems! Good luck. :D
I got my Firefox problem taken care of; so, now I'm an extra-happy camper! I downloaded Windows SP2 and I already had Internet Explorer 6. I'm now current on all updates too. I noticed there is a firewall in Windows SP2…is that one "good enough"? I am going to print out your recommendations and keep them near my computer…AND I will use them…I can guarantee you that!!! :)
