11.
Clean out temporary files:
Start | Run | type cleanmgr | OK
Let it scan your system for files to remove.
Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.
Click OK to remove them.
Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Reboot into normal mode.

Download Ewido scan
Check for updates.

Let it do a full run, than copy the log. Past it to a blank Notepad file and save it to post here.

Post back here with a fresh log using HijackThis and Ewidoscanlog.
Thanks for the help. :)
Some problems:
In HJT I found no exxpg.dll lines but plenty of ikhar.dll lines. I probably should have checked these, but I decided to be cautious and didn't.
I accidentally booted into normal mode after running About:Buster the first time.
When I finally went into normal mode the 'about:blank' page in IE immediately loaded again - not a good sign!

Ewido found over 1300 items and I am not allowed to post it because of length. Please tell me if you want selected sections of it.
Here is the HJT log:

When I finally went into normal mode the 'about:blank' page in IE immediately loaded again - not a good sign!

You better connect to the internet after the complete fix is done.
When IE opens, its immediately loads the entrys R0 and R1 shown in the log. The tricker is the service with the weard signs.

-Click Start>Run and type in: services.msc
-Click OK
-In the Services window find: Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Helper (11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I)
-Select/highlight and right click the entry, and choose: Properties
-On the General tab, under Service Status click the Stop button
-Beside: Startup Type, in the drop menu, select: Disabled
-Click Apply, then OK

Reboot, open HJT and click config > misc tools > “delete an NT service”
Copy and past: 11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I Att!!! There is a space before the 11
click OK.

Download: HomeSearchfix and unzit it to your desktop but do not use it yet.

Print this advice for in safe mode there is no internetconnection. You better entirely PLUG OUT from the internet!!!
Reboot your pc into safe mode for all OS

Close all windows and open HijackThis.
Click "scan only” in the main window
Put a check beside the lines below and choose “FIX checked”.

Run CWShredder and choose fix

Start About:Buster and press start, and then OK. The program will start scanning now. When it is done, click exit.

Dubbelklik HomeSearchfix.reg to merge the info to the registry.

To clean temporary files:
Go > start > run and type cleanmgr and OK
Scan your system for files to remove.
Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.
Click OK to remove those files.
Click Yes to confirm deletion.

Reboot the pc in normal mode.

RUN EWIDO SCAN IN NORMAL MODE, and let it clean all it finds.

NOW connect to the internet again

Run HJT and post a new log here.
Better this time!
In HJT 'tioyi.dll' had already mututed to another name, but I deleted the seven lines ending with 'html#37049'.
The four following lines did not show up:
O2 - BHO: Class - {C70A9850-BFBE-FA80-AEBC-F027897A9AC5} - C:\WINDOWS\sdksu32.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [iewb.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\iewb.exe

O23 - Service: Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Helper ( 11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntos.exe (file missing)

None of the files to be deleted were present but C:\system32\ntos32.exe and C:\system32\ntoskrnl.exe were present but I left them alone.

CWShredder was clean
About:Buster removed three files
Ewido found nothing
BUT on rebooting in normal mode (before Ewido Scan) IE again loaded itself and displayed the 'about:blank' page.
One further query: I was in my own user area when running 'cleanmgr' and suspect temporary internet files are not removed in other areas. Should I have logged on as Administrator?

Thats a clean log :)

None of the files to be deleted were present but C:\system32\ntos32.exe and C:\system32\ntoskrnl.exe were present but I left them alone.

Can you research and let them scan here:

Jotti Virusscan

Do post the results in your next reply.

One further query: I was in my own user area when running 'cleanmgr' and suspect temporary internet files are not removed in other areas. Should I have logged on as Administrator?

Please do. All the accounts must be cleaned out.
I have cleaned out all the other user accounts
At Jotti Viruscan ntos32.exe turned out to be an empty file and ntoskrnl.exe got a clean bill of health.
IE still loads up with the about:blank page.
The words 'about:blank' occur in two files: actshell.htm and migrate.js which are both present in four different folders: C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$, C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386, C:\WINDOWS\system32\oobe, C:\WINDOWS\system32\oobe\mui\041e.
Is there some problem with my shell file? - I think I have seen it mentioned elsewhere in this forum.
My hard disk is rattling away all the time, which is very alarming!
I enclose latest HJT log in case anything has changed.

I cleaned out User E and User R IE problem as before when I booted into normal mode Adaware removed two registry values referring to about:blank On rebooting IE again loaded, but after thinking about it for some time selected microsoft as home page (default used to be Google) I have changed IE privacy setting from low to high How do I stop IE loading straight away? I'm very grateful for all your work on this.

I have changed IE privacy setting from low to high

How do I stop IE loading straight away?

All users show the IE startup-entry, we have to change that.
Can you give me a HijackThislog as administrator from the pc?

I'm very grateful for all your work on this.

Just home from a long werkday.
Prefer this work though :)
All the users have administrator rights, I have discovered, but in safe mode there is a separate administrator account and i have run HJT from there.
