Hi brucep26b;

Please read this entire post before beginning.

We will have to turn off Ad-Awares Ad-Watch, or it will prevent us from making the necessary changes.

Open AdAware Se.
Click the Ad-Watch icon on the top of the screen.
Go to Tools and Preferences.
At the bottom of the screen you can see two checkable items called Active and Automatic.
Active: This will turn Ad-Watch On\Off without closing it
Automatic: Suspicious activity will be blocked automatically
Uncheck those boxes.

Remember when we have completed cleaning your machine to turn it back on.

The following are recommended fixes:

Close all browser windows and RUN HijackThis.
Click the SCAN button to produce a log.
Place a check mark beside each one of the following entries:

If you did not add this restriction, or ask a program, such as Spybot S&D to do so, it may be fixed with Hijack This. This does not appear to be dangerous and was probably added by Spybot S&D. It can be left alone, if you wish.

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

Now with all the items selected, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button.

Then, please reboot.

There do not seem to be any problems being revealed by Hijack This. If you are having problems, please advise what they are in a follow up post. To reply, please use the Post Reply feature, so I will be notified.

Protection Recommendations:

If you dont have these three FREE programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening.
You're welcome.
