Apologies that you've been kept waiting - everyone is a volunteer here and it is busy - sometimes posts get missed.

Click here to download ewido security suite - it is a trial version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
  • The program will now go to the main screen
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
  • Then click on Start Update
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.

Once the updates are installed, reboot into Safe Mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded, then:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin (do not open any folder's or open the windows control panel while the scan is in progress).
  • While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK
  • When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a check in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections" then choose clean and click OK.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop.
Now close ewido security suite.

If you already have the program please make sure its version 3.5 you have and updated.
If the program just exits before it finishes start it again and set it up to do a custom scan:
Start the program click the scan button over to the left, click custom scan, click add drive/directory/file and add c:\documents and settings\ and c:\windows\system32\ then click start scan, have it remove everything found.

Reboot into Normal Mode and make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Reboot again when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here together with the ewido report you saved earlier.

:D Sorry, I was out of town. I'm not sure what we did, but it seems to be fine now. I have since downloaded Spy Sweeper trial version, and between Ewido and that, everthing seems better, THANKS!! I will probably purchase one of these programs, which one do you recommend, or is there something better? :thumbup:

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Lwp7RgbsV] pstms.exe
O16 - DPF: {4208FB4D-4E53-4F5A-BF7A-3E047DDB5281} - http://www.icannnews.com/app/ST/ActiveX.ocx

Exit HijackThis when done. Reboot, rescan with HijackThis and post a new log here.

Is it necessary to reopen this thread, or should I start a new one? I am having problems again getting all the spyware off my computer. There is something embedded that I cannot find with all my spyware software, including Ewido. I have a couple of poups that keep reoccuring, one is a "partypoker.com", and the other say something like, "ad-yieldmanager". Please help, thanks!!    Curt Summers
