Hi, During the last night I recognized many dial-ups for about 3 minutes each. Today I did a check with Norton and it says that some ports are open for access and attacks. Who can tell me how to find and protect these ports. By the way I'm from Germany so, whoever wants to write in German - go on please!
hi,

first i would scan with ad aware or spybot search and destroy and ewido or a squared.
a2 free
Ewido Security Suite

having a open port would only be a problem if there is a vulunerable process or service or app attached to it. windows holds some ports open. some default services can be disabled, some cant.

lots of info/scans here:

i would also get a firewall:
Zone Alarm
Kerio Personal Firewall
Outpost Firewall
Sygate Personal Firewall
