Hello charisma :) Welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you are not receiving help elsewhere, please follow these directions in the posted order.

1) I do not see much but the item is nasty, read about it here:
http://castlecops.com/s3866-TSADBOT_EXE.html
http://cexx.org/tsadbot.htm

2) I need to mention that if this slowdown coincides with SP2 download, you need to review this information:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/sp2_whattoknow.mspx

3) Let's get that HJT.exe off the Desktop. Do this for me, open your C:\ and RIGHT click a blank spot then make a new folder. Name it HJT, then move the HJT.exe into that folder. Now it looks like this: C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe and can now store logs, backups for safety and the HJT.exe safely. You can create a shortcut to the Desktop for ease of working if you wish,
just be sure everyone in the house knows to leave it alone. It can be very dangerous in untrained hands. If you have a problem with those instruction that use this link:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial94.html

4) Follow the directions in this link to download, update, configure and run these two programs: http://tomcoyote.org/aawsb.php Please do not activate TeaTimer in Spybot until the repair is complete.

5) Ewido trojan scanner: http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Please download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Ewido trojan scanner:
  1. When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  2. When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  3. From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
  4. After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"), click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on the Start button. This scan can take quite a while to run, so time to go get a drink and a snack….
  5. If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK.
  6. When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Please then paste the contents of the text file to this thread.

  7. 6) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TimeSink Ad Client] "C:\Program Files\TimeSink\AdGateway\TsAdBot.exe"
    O16 - DPF: {DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8-92D0-73DB16A1543A} (PopCapLoader Object) - http://download.games.yahoo.com/games/web_…aploader_v6.cab
    ADW_POP.A

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

    7) SHOW HIDDEN FILES: Follow the instructions in the link to enable hidden files for your operating system.
You may wish to reverse this process if you have any concern about anyone getting into these hidden system files.
    http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

    C:\Program Files\TimeSink\ >>> folder
Locate C:\Windows\Prefetch folder and open it. Delete the contents of the folder (NOT THE FOLDER) if there are many choose Edit then Select all then Delete. You may not be able to remove them all, don't be concerned unless any have the name of the items we need to remove. Here is some information about the Prefetch for you:
    http://techrepublic.com.com/5100-6270-5165773.html
    http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1683520,00.asp

    8) Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new HJT log along with the Ewido scan results in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let us know how you are running.

    Thanks…pskelley

Hello,
So I finished all that was asked but it is still running just as slow. This is not a new thing and has been happening for about 8-9 months. Here is my HijackThis log and the ewido file. Let me know what you find. Thanks for your help.

Hi Regina, It looks like I neglected to give you the link for CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/
Please download that program and run it using the default settings. Have it remove anything it finds, this may help as it will remove a lot of clutter. Please do not use the Register cleaner unless you back up the registry in case of a problem.

Let's try giving your disk a good cleaning and then defrag it also. It is much better to do this in the Safe Mode. If you do not know how to get to Safe Mode, follow these directions: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html
It is always better to run these maintenance programs in Safe Mode, they will do a better job and will not take as long. Once in Safe Mode do this:

Open MyComputer then RIGHT click on Local Disk © then click on Properties. click on the Tools tab, then run the first two tools one after the other. This will take a while. See if you are running better after this maintenance.

I can report that your HJT log is clean and Ewido cleaned out some nasty stuff also. Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

Let me know after you run CCleaner and the maintenance if there is improvement.

Hello, The computer didnt need to be defragmented and the thing to check for errors also ran but I do not believe it had any errors. The computer still seems to be running at around the same speed. Do you have any ideas on what could be causing this or what I can do about it. Thanks, Charisma
Hello, I forgot I already had searched for and downloaded the CCleaner. It deleted some internet files but nothing big. Thanks Charisma
Charisma, I am having a hard time trying to fiqure out how to help you with an issue that occured 8 or 9 months ago. What I do is remove malware and make some suggestions about security on your computer. I do have some experience at troubleshooting some issues but I do not have much to go on here. What occured around the time this started? The only thing I can see in the log that might cause a significate slowdown is Norton Internet Security. It uses a load of resources, could it have been put on the computer around that time? The other item is SP2. It also uses resources and if the computer is not properly prepared for the download I have heard many stories of computers that slowed considerably. What kind of computer do you have? Please see if you can give me more information about this slowdown and what may have also occured at the time it started. Are there any other symptoms. Since you computer is clean of malware I would look for other reasons. Have you discussed this problem with your Internet Service Provider. Perhaps they can test the speed of service they are providing. I am afraid there is not much more I can do without more information. Something occured at the time this began, and there in lies the clue to the reason.
Here is some random information in the hopes you might spot something that will help:
