Hello Tales and welcome to TomCoyote. :wavey:

I see that you have no protection programs on your computer which is the main reason it is infected as badly as it is. I'll add some links at the bottom of these instructions for some good free programs.

  • Disable the offending Service
    • Click Start < Run and type services.msc.
    • Scroll down to jvwelqrmxwxj and right click on it.
    • Click Properties and under Service Status click Stop, then under Startup Type change it to Disabled.
  • Delete the offending Service
    • Open HijackThis and click Config -> Misc Tools -> Delete an NT service.
    • In the Delete window, type djeixkqt6 and press OK.
    • OK any prompts, close HijackThis, and restart your computer.
  • Download this tool : LQfix.zip
    • Unzip it to your Desktop.
    • Don't use it yet!
  • Download and install Ewido security suite.
    • Launch Ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop for it to double-click.
      • The program will prompt you to update, click the OK button.
      • The program will now go to the main screen.
    • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
      • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
      • Click on Start.
      • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
    • Once the updates are installed, close the program.
  • Please download Nailfix.
    • Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml
  • Run LQfix.
    • Doubleclick LQfix.bat that you saved on your desktop before.
A dos window will open and close again, that is normal.
  • Run Nailfix.
    • Still in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd.
Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly — this is normal.
  • Scan with Ewido.
    • Launch Ewido again.
      • Click on scanner.
      • Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:
        • Binder
        • Crypter
        • Archives
    • Click on Start Scan.
      • Let the program scan the machine.
      • While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK.
    • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report.
      • Click Save report.
      • Save the report to your desktop.
  • Fix with HijackThis
    • Next please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check the following (if still present):

lshosts32.exe << You'll need to search for this file and delete it.
  • Restart your computer in normal mode and post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

I see no signs of a Firewall or Antivirus program on your computer. I recommend downloading and installing the following free programs:
ZoneAlarm Firewall
AVG7 Antivirus.

Be sure to check for updates after installation.
Thanks for the help Alan.

::Report End
I see that you still have no protection programs on your computer. This is essential to keeping the computer clean.

Step 1
Disable the offending Service
  • Click Start < Run and type services.msc.
  • Scroll down to System Startup Service and right click on it.
  • Click Properties and under Service Status click Stop, then under Startup Type change it to Disabled.
Delete the offending Service
  • Open HijackThis and click Config -> Misc Tools -> Delete an NT service.
  • In the Delete window, type SvcProc and press OK.
  • OK any prompts, close HijackThis, and restart your computer.
Step 2
Open HijackThis, run a scan, then check the following:

O2 - BHO: &EliteBar - {28CAEFF3-0F18-4036-B504-51D73BD81ABC} - C:\WINDOWS\EliteToolBar\EliteToolBar.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5BE5EF2A-3D12-27B8-BCCB-B90BB9AF5CAE} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {929ED16A-99C2-021F-D95C-4B2836F5A294} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {A0034548-0D12-A382-8A20-B701784B4757} - (no file)

O3 - Toolbar: &EliteBar - {825CF5BD-8862-4430-B771-0C15C5CA8DEF} - C:\WINDOWS\EliteToolBar\EliteToolBar.dll (file missing)

Optional items to check with HijackThis for improved performance.
Resource hog that launches common MS Office components to help speed up the launch of Office programs. Some users claim there's no difference with or without it but it isn't required either way.
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

Step 3
Please set your computer to show all files.
  • Double-click My Computer.
  • Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
  • Click the View tab.
  • Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
  • Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
  • Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
  • Click Apply, and then click OK.
You will need to reverse this process when all steps are done.

Step 4
Please delete the following folder:

C:\WINDOWS\EliteToolBar

If you have any problem deleting these items, reboot into Safe Mode (tap F8 during bootup, use arrow keys to select Safe Mode, then hit 'enter') and try again.

Step 5
Reboot normally and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.
Please let us know of any complications you had and how the computer is behaving.
With the protection programs, I downloaded the ones you recommended on that one post where you suggested them. But, it was late at night when I downloaded them and I was just going to wait until the morning to install them.

I was wondering if I could delete the one with AOL (O23 - Service: AOL Connectivity Service (AOL ACS) - Unknown owner - C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\AOL\ACS\acsd.exe (file missing)) seeing as I no longer use AOL as an internet service or anything else for that matter.

My computer seems to be running at about the same as it was when I first posted my first HijackThis log. This is probably because with the spyware deleted and the new antivirus AND firewall installed more memory is being used than before with the new programs despite the speed I might have saved deleting the spyware.
Glad to see AVG and ZoneAlarm on your computer now.
Have you run a scan with AVG yet to see if it found anything?

Check in Add/Remove Programs to see if there are any entries for AOL. Uninstall them if found. Reboot the computer to finish the uninstalling.

If the entry below is still listed after removing AOL in Add/Remove Programs than it is safe to remove in Hijackthis.
O23 - Service: AOL Connectivity Service (AOL ACS) - Unknown owner - C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\AOL\ACS\acsd.exe (file missing)

Delete the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\AOL

You have three entries that do not want to go away. We'll need to use another program to remove them.

Download: Registrar Lite (freeware)
http://www.resplendence.com/reglite
  • Start Registrar Lite
  • Copy and paste {28CAEFF3-0F18-4036-B504-51D73BD81ABC} into the top address bar in Registrar Lite.
  • Click the Go button (upper right)
  • Once located, right-click and select: Properties
  • Click Permissions, Click the Advanced button
Place a checkmark next to the following:

"Inherit from parent the permission entries that apply to child objects…"

Click OK, Click Ok, Delete the key

Repeat for each of the following entries …

{929ED16A-99C2-021F-D95C-4B2836F5A294}
{A0034548-0D12-A382-8A20-B701784B4757}

Reboot the computer and post a fresh HijackThis log as a reply to this thread.
Let us know how the computer is behaving now.
Sorry for not updating on this for so long as I have been on vacation for the past week and have not had access to my computer.

My computer seems like it could be running slightly faster since I deleted the three objects in the registry that you told me to. I cannot really confirm this though because if my computer is running faster, it is only slightly faster. Thanks for helping to make it however faster it has become from doing this though.

I was also wondering what the processes named KBD and ctfmon do for my computer. I just end those processes whenever I turn my computer on or restart it and they seem to do nothing important for my computer.
I noticed in my last set of instruction, I posted the one wrong CLSID for you to fix with Registrar Lite. I'm sure you discovered it was no longer in the registry.
  • Start Registrar Lite
  • Copy and paste {5BE5EF2A-3D12-27B8-BCCB-B90BB9AF5CAE} into the top address bar in Registrar Lite.
  • Click the Go button (upper right)
  • Once located, right-click and select: Properties
  • Click Permissions, Click the Advanced button
Place a checkmark next to the following:

"Inherit from parent the permission entries that apply to child objects…"

Click OK, Click Ok, Delete the key.

Since the AOL Connectivity Service is still in the log and you no longer use AOL, we'll use a different approach to remove it.

Disable the offending Service
  • Click Start < Run and type services.msc.
  • Scroll down to AOL Connectivity Service and right click on it.
  • Click Properties and under Service Status click Stop, then under Startup Type change it to Disabled.
Delete the offending Service
  • Open HijackThis and click Config -> Misc Tools -> Delete an NT service.
  • In the Delete window, type AOL ACS and press OK.
  • OK any prompts, close HijackThis, and restart your computer.
Download CCleaner from here to clean temp files from your computer.
  • Double click on the file to start the installation of the program.
  • Select your language and click OK, then next.
  • Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
  • Click next to use the default install location. Click Install then finish to complete installation.
  • Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program.
  • Click Options < Advanced and uncheck "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours".
  • Click Run Cleaner to run the program.
  • After it has completed it's process, click Exit.
Caution : It is not recommended to use the 'Issues' tab as it is known to find legitimate items.

Reboot normally and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.

KBD - Multimedia keyboard manager. Required if you use the multimedia keys

ctfmon - CTFMon is involved with the language/alternative input services in Office XP. CTFMON.exe will continue to put itself back into MSConfig when you run the Office XP apps as long as the Text Services and Speech applets in the Control Panel are enabled. Not required if you don\'t need these features. For more info on ctfmon see here. CTFMON can be disabled from Control Panel, Text & Speech Services

Your new log appears clean. :)

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove bad files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected.)

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. On the System Restore tab, put a check mark in the 'Turn Off System Restore' check box.
3. Click OK, and then click Yes.
4. Restart the computer.
5. Repeat steps 1 - 2, this time clearing the box beside 'Turn Off System Restore', click 'OK'.

I suggest that you get these programs to help keep the computer clean:

Spyware Blaster - Blocks bad ActiveX items from installing on your computer. Spyware Blaster runs silently in the background.
SpywareGuard - Real-time protection from spyware installation attempts
ie-spyad - Puts over 8,000 bad URLs into your restricted sites for Internet Explorer.
Google Toolbar - Blocks many unwanted pop-ups in Internet Explorer.
Firefox - 'Safer' alternative to the Internet Explorer web browser.
ZoneAlarm - Free firewall program if you currently are not using one.

Here are three very good and free malware scanners:

Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4
AdAware SE v1.06
Set-up Instructions for Spybot S&D; and Adaware SE
a² Free Trojan Remover

If you have them already, check to make sure that they are the newest version.

Update these regularly.

You may also want to read "How did I get infected in the first place" to learn how to better secure your computer.

Be sure to keep Windows and your Anti-virus updated.
