Does logfile look OK? I use Mozilla Foxfire and don't see any info relevant to it.

Hello ahmeru;

Neither do I see any reference to Firefox in your HJT log. Click on Tools, then general and check to see that Firefox is your default browser. If not,or if you cannot see it next to your Start button, on your desktop etc., then do a search for it. Possibly you downloaded Firefox but failed to install the program.

Your Hijack This log seems to be clean. However, there are a couple of programs you are using that are not recommended. I would advise to Uninstall them from your PC. Then to replace them after removal, the Google toolbar includes a good popup killer, but Firefox also has a good one that is available as an extension.

And here is a link for a free spyware removal program. The name might be familiar.

Before we start I notice you have Spybots TeaTimer running, Tea Timer will do it's job and will resist any changes we try to make to your system so just for now could you disable it. When we have finished the fix then re-enable it.

Open Spybot, go to Mode > Advanced. Then click on Tools. In the menu on the left hand side you will see Resident, click that and then untick 'Resident "Teatimer" (Protection of over all system settings) active.
Remember to reverse the procedure and turn in back on, after finishing.



Note that these Programs should first be Uninstalled/Removed from Add/Remove Programs.

This is the same company as E-mail marketers ‘TrekData’ and ‘Blue Haven Media’, who distribute spyware through ActiveX drive-by-download on web pages.

Close all browser windows and RUN HijackThis.
Click the SCAN button to produce a log.
Place a check mark beside each one of the following entries:

Protection Recommendations:

If you dont have these three FREE programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening.
