Download this tool: LQfix.zip
Unzip it to your Desktop.
Don't use it yet!

The above Registry file was written specifically for this infection and is not to be used on any other infection as it could damage a person's PC

IMPORTANT! Reboot the computer into Safe Mode (tap F8 during bootup, use arrow keys to select Safe Mode, then hit 'enter').

Doubleclick LQfix.bat that you saved on your desktop before.
A doswindow will open and close again, that is normal.

Reboot into normal mode and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.
Hans

Thanks for reply. Since posting last HJT log have run AdAwareSE & Spybot several times

It's absolutely not recommended to upgrade to another ServicePack while your system is so messed up. But we'll ignore that part for now and try to delete the things which are now on your system.

Download the FindQoologic-Narrator.zip and save it to your Desktop.
http://forums.net-integration.net/index.ph…=post&id=134981

The above files written by O_E were written specifically for this infection and is not to be used on any other infection as it could damage a person's PC

1. Extract (unzip) the files inside into their own folder called FindQoologic.
2. Open the FindQoologic folder.
3. Locate and double-click the Find-Qoologic2.bat to run it.

* The tool will open a DOS window and begin to check your system.
When it is finished a text file will open in Notepad called "file.txt".
* Save this text file in the FindQoologic folder.
* Close the DOS box If on win 98 or me.

4. Open the file you saved and copy / paste its content to this thread (as a reply).
Hans, Oh dear, sorry to be such a numbnuts thought it might help with the increased security I do hope it hasn't increased the problem. When I ran the FindQoologic batch file it gave an error message stating : C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS & MS Windows applications So I tried running it in safe mode but there appeared to be no difference in the text file, this is the text file for running in normal mode PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL FILES FOUND BY THIS METHOD ARE NOT BAD FILES, There WILL be LEGIT FILES LISTED PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHILE FIXING. IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF WHAT IT IS LEAVE THEM ALONE. some examples are MRT.EXE NTDLL.DLL. »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» Files found »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» startup files»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» Checking Global Startup »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» (fstarts by IMM - test ver. 0.001) NOT using address check – 0x7c90df5e Global Startup: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup . .. Download Killbox.
Click killbox.exe.
Select the option "Delete on reboot".

Now copy the next bold:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\VAANZM.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\PQQDM.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\System32\SUPDATE.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ZBBGXHR.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\System32\BQQOARM.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\REDIT.CPL
C:\WINDOWS\System32\PSOF1.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\UCI.EXE
C:\docume~1\alluse~1\startm~1\programs\startup\NCCT.EXE

Open 'file' in the killboxmenu on top and choose Paste from clipboard

Now you will see, this is pasted in the "Full Path of File to Delete"-field.
There's a little arrow (dropdown-arrow) next to that field.
If you expand it, these lines must be there together!

Then press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot.. Click YES
When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES
If you get a "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" message then just restart manually.

Your system must reboot now.

Open notepad and copy and paste next content in the field in it:

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\fkkqytxy]

The above Registry file was written specifically for this infection on this person's computer. It is NOT to be used on another computer, as it may cause damage that could result in a format.

Save this as Qfix.reg choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.
Doubleclick on it and when it asks you to add the content to the registry, click yes/ok

Post a new findqoologic-log in your next reply.

Looks good! :)

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers real-time protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
  • How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
To protect yourself further:
  • IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
I also suggest that you delete your Temp folders regularly. Use CleanUp! to do this automatically for you!
Hans Many thanks for your good work & assistance, sorry have been slow in writing to thank you but have been trying to find out why my Network connection/ICS is now down on two of the four computers in my workgroup. It was all working fine before being hit by all those little gremlins. I'm still tearing my hair out after two evenings [But I would only get bored in the evenings sitting around taking it easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!] Thanks again. Best Regards Stratocruiser 1957
