Please would you help me? I seem to be infested with some sort of parasite(s). There are entries in my Favourites column which I haven't put there and which keep coming back when I delete them and also unsolicited websites come up which are mostly porn. Being new to all of this I have tried to block them with my firewalls etc -scanned with Ad-Aware plus and other stuff but the cancer is still there. Your help would be most appreciated. Hope I've done this correctly. many thanks for your help. The log is below:

Hello pilar and welcome to TomCoyote. :wavey: As it has been several days since posting that log many things may have changed. Please post a fresh HijackThis log as a reply to this thread and I'll have a look at it.
Alan thank you so much for replying to my SOS. Here is the new log. Something else that I've noticed is that various key words have been highlighted in green and if they're clicked, it takes you to some website or other. Your help is most appreciated.

Pilar

Alan, I could give you a big hug and a kiss for helping me sort out my PC. Its wonderful to be able to open IE and not be bombarded with porno sites. Thank you so, so much for your help. I am so grateful that when you give me the all clear, I shall make a donation to TomCoyote.

A very appreciative Pilar <_<

Just one items left to fix. :)

Step 1
Open HijackThis, run a scan, then check the following:

O16 - DPF: {0F9B4CA4-A30F-480A-841D-69B45C50A8F8} (SekureL0gin.SekureKontrol) - http://secure2.comned.com/signuptemplates/AktiveSekurity.cab

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

Step 2
I suggest that you get these programs to help keep the computer clean:

Spyware Blaster - Blocks bad ActiveX items from installing on your computer. Spyware Blaster runs silently in the background.
SpywareGuard - Real-time protection from spyware installation attempts
ie-spyad - Puts over 8,000 bad URLs into your restricted sites for Internet Explorer.
Google Toolbar - Blocks many unwanted pop-ups in Internet Explorer.
Firefox - 'Safer' alternative to the Internet Explorer web browser.

Update these regularly.

Step 3
Reboot normally and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.
Please let us know of any complications you had and how the computer is behaving.
Alan, here is the new log. I have downloaded Spyware Blaster as you suggested and will do the others when I've finished this.

I do hope IE is all clear now. Once again from a very grateful Pilar a very big thank you for your help (I'm sure I'd have been bald by now - pulling my hair out with each unsolicited website).

Here is the log

Pilar

Your new log does appear clean.

I'll give you this link to read to see how to better secure your computer to prevent re-infection. "How did I get infected in the first place"
Thank you Alan for all your help and I most certainly will peruse the link you provided to ensure that my PC keeps relatively clean in the future. I have just made a donation to TomCoyote so that this very excellent work that is being done by you all (to help greenies like me) continues Regards Pilar
Your welcome. Glad to be able to help out.
The donation will be much appreciated by Tom.
