I know that there are alot of people asking for help but could someone please take a quick peek at my log and tell me if there is anything obvious that I should repair. Thanks in advance for your help with this.
Hello Emil, Welcome to TomCoyote and sorry for the long wait, there are just not enough of us. I see nothing in your log that should be causing your issues. If you would like to take a little better look to see if something is there HJT can not see, then let's try this:

1) First question would be if this slowdown occured along with the SP2 download? If that may be the case, look at this information:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/sp2_whattoknow.mspx

2) Download, update and run http://www.ccleaner.com/ use the default settings.

3) Ewido trojan scanner: http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Please download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Ewido trojan scanner:
  1. When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  2. When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  3. From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
  4. After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"), click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on the Start button. This scan can take quite a while to run, so time to go get a drink and a snack….
  5. If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK.
  6. When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Please then paste the contents of the text file to this thread.

  7. 4) Looks like HJT.exe is not in a folder, rather loose on the Desktop. Please use the information in the following links to make a folder to store HJT.exe, logs and backups for safety. You may make a shortcut to HJT on the desktop if you wish, just make sure no one in the house uses it, it can be dangerous in untrained hands. Thanks.

Note: This video tutorial requires Macromedia Flash to play.

    5) Stay in this thread and post a new HJT log and the Ewido scan results along with any feedback you think we should have.

    Thanks…pskelley
