Please copy the following instructions to a notepad file and save them
You will need to be Offline and NO IE windows open
You won't see this page.
We also need to shut down explorer.exe so it is important to keep your saved notepad file open and killbox open. Your desktop will dissapear during much of this process…normal.

  • Download the Pocket Killbox.
  • Unzip the contents of KillBox.zip to a convenient location.
  • Disconnect from internet and shut down all running programs
  • Double-click on KillBox.exe, and keep it open
  • Keep Notepad open!
  • Start Task manager (ctrl+alt+del) and end task explorer.exe
  • Ok warning and close task manager (desktop dissapears now)
  • In Killbox Click "Delete on Reboot"
  • Paste this file into the top "Full Path of File to Delete" box.
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\ccbxnbn.exe
  • Click the "Delete File" button which looks like a stop sign.
  • Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt.
  • Click "Yes" at the Pending Operations prompt to restart your computer. Allow machine to reboot.
  • If you get a "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" message then just restart manually.
  • Once the computer has been restarted, double-click on FindNarrator.bat and post the new FindNarrator.txt.
Please also post new hijack log.

Thanks!

hi, I tired several times because I noticed that the one entry remains listed after fixing and rebooting…. but even with multiple tries….it stubbornly stays!

What am I looking for to be gone? I just turned off my system and restarted it because I wanted to run the Task Mngr, HJT scans again to BE SURE it didn't show again and IT DIDN'T. Hooray! What a good day! My system has been running nicely with occassional weird things that came and went, so can you tell me what I should watch for? Do I show any other bad stuff on my log right now?
I think what I am trying to ask is whether this was the only problem I have? Because my PC-cillin just popped up and told me I have TROJ_STERVIS.C and I am running AD-Aware SE right now and it is listing CRITIAL ITEMS. I haven't run the Spyboot S&D; today yet or any other scanner I have installed to use. This leads me to wonder if all computer systems show problems with these regular scans as a matter or course or does it indicate I still have troubles to conquer?

i.e.
this is the copy of the critical items log that the scan of AD-Aware found. Are these par for the course to find when scans are run or do I still have things to tackle?:

Spybot S&D scan completed and found these after the other scans and fixes of this morning. Would this be considered something to expect and normal? Targetsaver AbetterInternet eZula HotText
AdAware SE was normal, you will get those cookies all of the time.

Lets take a deeper look to be sure

Download MicroWorld virus scan here >>> Micro World http://www.mwti.net/antivirus/free_utilities.asp

To run the virus scan make sure you click the following

memory, registry, startup folders, system folders, services, drive (all drives will be added) then click on scan clean. When the scan is complete hilight all the files in the LOWER box. Then ctrl + c and paste them into the thread ctrl + v.

I warn you the scan will take a long time to run and will not fix anything just identifies bad files.
