G'Day Mate, Welcome to TomCoyote forums. If you still need help please follow these instructions in the posted order:

1) You have a CoolWebSearch infection. Download CWshredder from the following link, then check for updates. Click on FIX not scan, allow the program to run and remove anything it locates. Let me know in your next post what it found.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Popu…WShredder.shtml

2) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

3) C:\Downloads\hijackthis1991.exe You need to fix this, go back to the C:\ and right click on a blank spot and make a NEW FOLDER. Call it HJT, move the HJT.exe and the log that is there into that folder. Needed to store backups for safety. It will look like this now: C:\HJT\hijackthis1991.exe

4) You are running Microsoft AntiSpyware and it will block our fix. Use these instructions to turn it off until you are done with HJT.
Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Tools, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.

5) This item C:\WINDOWS\system32\MSAgentXP.exe can't be identified. If you do not know what it is, we will remove it. You can search and look at properties if you wish, or upload it here for a check: http://virusscan.jotti.org/ If you get a report, please post it so I can see it.

6) Open Task Manager then the Processes tab. Highlite and end process on these items:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msxct.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\MSAgentXP.exe

7) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://best-search.cc/index.php?v=6&aff=6982585

unidentified trojan
O16 - DPF: ppctlcab - http://ppupdates.ca.com/downloads/scanner/ppctlcab.cab
does not identify

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

SHOW HIDDEN FILES: Follow the instructions in the link to enable hidden files for your operating system.
You may wish to reverse this process if you have any concern about anyone getting into these hidden system files.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\msxct.exe >>> file

C:\WINDOWS\system32\MSAgentXP.exe >>> file

Let's check for trojans in case any are hiding, run this free online scan, scan the whole system. Let me know what it finds and the exact name and location of anything it locates but can't remove. You may be asked to install an ActiveX, please do so as this program is safe and it can not run without it.
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new log in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let us know how you are running.

Thanks…pskelley
