Hello locksmith, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you still need help, please follow these directions in the posted order:

1) Read this: http://castlecops.com/s2034-MsgPlus_exe.html Follow these instruction to uninstall this garbage. Thanks to Elrond for the fix.

You have a LOP infection that often comes together with Messenger Plus. To remove it we will try the simple way first.

1. Go to Add/Remove programs. Double click on "Messenger Plus!" (or click on Remove)

2. The "Messenger Plus! - Setup" is now displayed. Click on the Uninstall button. Note: options displayed on the first screen are not related to the sponsor program.

3. The sponsor screen is now displayed (if you don't see it, search for it in your Task Bar). To prove that someone is currently reading the screen, you have to type the code that is displayed. Once you enter the code, press Uninstall.

4. If you entered the code properly, the program will ask you to confirm that you want to uninstall. You must answer "Yes" to this question, else, you won't have another chance of uninstalling.

5. To complete the uninstallation, follow the instructions that are displayed (the first one is to close all your Internet Explorer windows, that's very important). When everything is complete, restart your computer and, hopefully voila one nasty infection is gone.
__________________________________________________________________

2) This: C:\PROGRAM FILES\NOADWARE3\NOADWARE3.EXE is a rouge product, please see the information in this link: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm Then use uninstall in Add Remove programs to rid yourself of it.

3) We need to move your HijackThis.exe, this is where it is now: C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP\HIJACKTHIS.EXE Go back to the Windows folder and RIGHT click a blank spot and make a new folder…call it HJT. Copy and paste the HJT.exe into that folder. You can make a shortcut to the desktop for ease of using as long as no one in the house will bother it.
It will now look like this: C:\Windows\HJT\HijackThis.exe, and be able to store logs and backups safely.

4) Your version is outdated, we are working logs with V1.99.1. You can update from within the software link this: Open HJT > Open the Misc Tools section > Scroll to Check for update online > Follow instructions. If you have any problems doing that here is a download link: http://www.malwareremoval.com/downloads.html

5) You have at least one trojan onboard, W32/Rbot-ADZ Trojan, Follow these instructions to see if you can kill it and anything else that might be hiding. Let's check for trojans in case any are hiding, run this free online scan, scan the whole system. Let me know what it finds and the exact name and location of anything it locates but can't remove. You may be asked to install an ActiveX, please do so as this program is safe and it can not run without it.
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

6) Stay in this same thread and post a new log using Version 1.99.1. We will have more to do.

Thanks…pskelley

Hello, Before I start I have to tell yuou that you have still not followed directions in item #3 in my last post to properly position your HJT. Please understand this is for your safety. If a mistake is made and the backups are not available, you will not be able to fix the mistake. I will offer this link, perhaps it will help. Please fix this before you proceed with HJT.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial94.html

1) First I wish to mention that I also use Instant messenging, but care must be taken and some very nasty stuff can get on your computer if care is not taken. Here is a little information to help you:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/o…e/imsafety.mspx
http://www.youthonline.ca/safety/messengersafety.shtml

2) You have this nasty trojan on board: W32/Rbot-ADZ, here is some information to help you leave about this worm in the hopes it will help you avoid it in the future: http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32rbotadz.html
Please note these side effect:
Turns off anti-virus applications
Allows others to access the computer
Modifies data on the computer
Deletes files off the computer
Steals information
You will want to reinstall your antivirus and perhaps your firewall also. You should contact the tech support for their instructions. Since information might have been accessed, and important information could have been compromised and I would change passwords, etc.

3) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

4) This item: O2 - BHO: PCTools Site Guard - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - C:\PROGRA~1\SPYWAR~1\TOOLS\IESDSG.DLL (file missing) Is from SpywareDoctor. I wish to point out the missing file. This program should be reinstall if you wish to use it. It may be totally ineffective with the file missing.

5) Open HJT then click on "Open the Misc Tools section". Under SYSTEM TOOLS, click on "Open process manager". Locate this item highlite it and click on "Kill Process"
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WINIS.EXE

6) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Hi Lynn, Whoa…you did great and your log shows it. You still have this item:
O2 - BHO: PCTools Site Guard - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - C:\PROGRA~1\SPYWAR~1\TOOLS\IESDSG.DLL (file missing)
While PCTools Spyware Doctor is a good program, with the missing file you may not be getting the protection you paid for. I would suggest downloading this product again if you paid for it to see if you can fix the missing information.

As I said your log is is clean :D and here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

INTERNET PLAYED UP A BIT

What do you mean by this, what exactly did it do? I can tell you that is usually an Internet Service Provider problem. Are you on wireless internet also? If you are wired, then listen for static in your phone lines, even DSL can be effected and sometimes line filters are required.

I wish to ask if you are keeping maintenance up to date, we just did a heck of a good cleaning with CCleaner, did you notice how much junk it removed. Let me give you a few links to maintenance help:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsME/using/c…es/maintwiz.asp
http://www.systemsmedic.com/maintenance.htm
http://www.larp.ca/PCMaintenance.htm

See if that helps, I will leave the link open for a few days in case you have questions, safe surfing and cheers…Phil

Thanks…pskelley
