Hello asiammyself, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you are still looking for help please follow these instructions in the order posted.

1) First we have to get your HJT into a permanent folder when it can store logs and backups for safety. You are running from a Temp folder. Please use the following links and the instructions to do this:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial94.html
Note: This video tutorial requires Macromedia Flash to play.
http://www.spywareaid.com/index.php?file=svideo&id;=1

2) Microsoft AntiSpyware will stop our fix, use the instructions to turn it off when you run HJT.
Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Tools, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.

3) I am not sure if ewido\security suite will prevent the HJT fix? You may wish to turn that program off during the fix.

4) Open Task Manager then the Processes tab. Locate and end process on
C:\DOCUME~1\JOE~1.YOU\LOCALS~1\Temp\msshed32.exe if it is running.

5) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

6) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: WinStat - {F007E221-018D-4baf-924A-B0E9092F3853} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat11.dll

(above does not Identify, leave it if you know it is safe)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

SHOW HIDDEN FILES: Follow the instructions in the link to enable hidden files for your operating system.
You may wish to reverse this process if you have any concern about anyone getting into these hidden system files.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

This trojan is showing in two places:

C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS~1\JOE~1.YOU\LOCALS~1\Temp\msshed32.exe >>> file ( open this Temp folder and delete everything in it. (NOT THE FOLDER) Just the contents.

C:\WINDOWS\System32\jmow.exe >>> file

C:\WINDOWS\System32\msshed32.exe >>> file

Locate C:\Windows\Prefetch folder and open it. Delete the contents of the folder (NOT THE FOLDER) if there are many choose Edit then Select all then Delete. You may not be able to remove them all, don't be concerned unless any have the name of the items we need to remove. Here is some information about the Prefetch for you:
http://techrepublic.com.com/5100-6270-5165773.html
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1683520,00.asp

Let's check for trojans in case any are hiding, run this free online scan, scan the whole system. Let me know what it finds and the exact name and location of anything it locates but can't remove. You may be asked to install an ActiveX, please do so as this program is safe and it can not run without it.
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new log in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let us know how you are running.

Thanks…pskelley

PURGE SYSTEM RESTORE
When you are completely finished with the removal procedure and are satisfied that the threat has been removed follow these instruction:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen…src=sec_doc_nam

C:\WINDOWS\System32\jmow.exe >>> file

C:\WINDOWS\System32\msshed32.exe >>> file

Should I Delete Them? The files above^?
Hi, Sorry if my format confused you, you did the right thing asking if you were unsure, here is what you asked:

Should I Delete Them? The files above^?

Here is what I posted:

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

This trojan is showing in two places:

C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS~1\JOE~1.YOU\LOCALS~1\Temp\msshed32.exe >>> file ( open this Temp folder and delete everything in it. (NOT THE FOLDER) Just the contents.

C:\WINDOWS\System32\jmow.exe >>> file

C:\WINDOWS\System32\msshed32.exe >>> file

Those are both added by the trojan, delete both files and when you are finished with the instructions then post that new log so we can see how you are doing. If you have any problems, like being told you can't delete them you will have to end process on this again: 4) Open Task Manager then the Processes tab. Locate and end process on
C:\DOCUME~1\JOE~1.YOU\LOCALS~1\Temp\msshed32.exe if it is running.

If you have questions ask them, Thanks…Phil
Ok I deleted msshed but jmow keeps saying I cannot delete. I have checked the Processes and there is no msshed or jmow in there. EDIT: Also there is nothing in: C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS~1\JOE~1.YOU\LOCALS~1\Temp
Hello, Please open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan and save a logfile" Wait until HJT produces that logfile in a Notepad for you. Copy and paste the contents of that Notepad into this same thread. I can't see what changes you have made or that we still need to make without a log. Please add any feedback that you think may help me or questions that you have. Thanks…Phil :)
Ok Just ran it again here is the log:

We need to address a few more item, please do this:

Follow the instructions from earlier to turn off Microsoft AntiSpyware, it will block the removal we must make.

You may also have to turn ewido\security suite off as it may be blocking us?

Let me say a few things before you start. These items should remove fairly easily, the instructions look the same because they are. Something in the removal process was not done right or at least several of these would be gone. It is very important that you follow all of the instructions to the letter.
The Microsoft AntiSpyware must be turned off first. I am not positive about Ewido but to be sure turn it off. If you can't turn it off then uninstall it. You must enable hidden files to look for: C:\WINDOWS\System32\jmow.exe. Make sure you first open the C:\Windows\ folder as the System32\ is inside of it. Locate the file: jmow.exe and delete it.
Then make sure all all Temp folder are empty. Make sure the C:\Windows\Prefetch folder is empty. ( a few may not go, but you can see if they are the bad one, since we can't see the Program in your running processes, it must be running from Prefetch or Temp. Take your time and do not delete any Temp or Prefetch folders just the contents.

Start here:
Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://g.msn.com/0SEENUS/SAOS01
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [jmow] C:\WINDOWS\System32\jmow.exe
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://www.neededware.com
O16 - DPF: {88D758A3-D33B-45FD-91E3-67749B4057FA} (Sinstaller Class) - http://dm.screensavers.com/dm/installers/si/1/sinstaller.cab

Locate and delete this item:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\jmow.exe >>> file

Post a new log in this same thread. Let me know of any problems you have completing these instructions. Thanks…Phil
jmow.exe icon looks faded. Does that mean anything should I post a screenshot? I turned off microsoft spyware and the uninstalled the other one. I can view the system32 files because I could delete mssshed but I cant delete jmow.exe.
Please finish the instructions and post a new log. Can you right click on
C:\WINDOWS\System32\jmow.exe
and choose "Properties" then post any information under all the tabs. I am especially interested in the copywrite under the version tab, but list anything there.

You can also try this: http://virusscan.jotti.org/
Open the link and browse to that item and Submit it. They will ask for your email information and they will return some information. Post that information for me. We can use Killbox but I am concerned as to why it is so hard to remove the item.

Thanks, once again post if you have questions and it is best to post the log with the question as I usually have to look at the log to answer the question.

Thanks…Phil

OK asiammyself, No doubt this is a trojan, and it is the first time I have seen it. It is also very stubborn to remove. Let's use this tool:

http://forum.malwareremoval.com/viewtopic.php?t=320

View the tutorial, then download and install Killbox as instructed. This is of course what you will copy/paste into the Killbox:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\jmow.exe

You may have to kill it during the reboot process. As soon as it is gone from send me a new log.

Thanks
Alright that killed it on reboot! :)

I am sorry, but the bad item is still in this log. Could you have given me an old log?? Please take another look. if it is still in the log, then try Killbox again. You can try to remove it with KillBox while in Safe Mode. Instructions for entering Safe Mode are here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

If you did post an old log, please post a new one with that item not removed by KillBox.

Thanks
