Hello oddbods, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. First let me apologize that you were missed the first time you posted. In the future if you would follow instruction: http://forums.tomcoyote.org/index.php?showtopic=31622 you will get service much quicker. With the hundreds of logs coming in this helps keep one from falling through a crack like this. I must also tell you that I do not see more than a little adware but it is of a nature that it slows down browsers and there may be more but you are running an outdated version of HijackThis and I won't be able to tell until you update. Do that from within HJT like this: Open HJT > Open the Misc Tools section > Scroll to Check for update online > Follow instructions. Here is a download link if you need it: http://www.malwareremoval.com/downloads.html I am going to merge these two posts and I will address the issues in your log as soon as you post a new one with version 1.99.1. Please make sure to stay in this same thread.

Thanks…pskelley

thank you again.
Thanks for the new log, no surprises in the new one. I do not see a lot but we will remove what I see, check for hidden trojans and do some cleaning, then we will see how you are running. I am also going to clean out the HP Internet Explorer plugins (put there by HP so you can see their adds) if you wish to see HP adds I am sure you know how to get to HP.com. I doubt HP is your home page, but if it is you can set it again when we are done. Let's start like this and please follow the instructions in the posted order. Thanks.

1) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

2) WinPatrol is a good program but it will stop the fix we must make with HJT. Please exit that progam until you are done with HJT.

3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TYPE=3&t…lion&pf=desktop
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TYPE=3&t…lion&pf=desktop
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…/search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TYPE=3&t…lion&pf=desktop
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://hsremove.com/done.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TYPE=3&t…lion&pf=desktop

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Let's check for trojans in case any are hiding, run this free online scan, scan the whole system and set it to clean or fix anything it locates. Let me know what it finds and the exact name and location of anything it locates but can't remove. You may be asked to install an ActiveX, please do so as this program is safe and it can not run without it.
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new log in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let us know how you are running. I am interested in the results of the trojan scan also.

Cheers…pskelley

PURGE SYSTEM RESTORE
When you are completely finished with the removal procedure and are satisfied that the threat has been removed follow these instruction:

Hi there, thank you for that, I have followed your advice, removed three trojan threats and this is the latest log, cheers

Hello, this log looks good but I wish to see the log with version 1.99.1. Would you please delete the version 1.99.0 and post a new log in this same thread using version 1.99.1, thanks much :)
Requested a log with v1.99.1, member did not return. 1.99.0 was clean. Giving links to stay clean now: here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:
