Now let's do some work on your log:

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Close all browser windows and RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

Place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [uhldtu] C:\WINNT\system32\uhldtu.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE

Now with all the items selected, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window and Reboot Your System in Safe Mode

How To Start To Safe Mode In Windows 2000

*Turn the computer on
*When you see the black-and-white Starting Windows bar at the bottom of the screen, start tapping the F8 key.
*The Windows 2000 Advanced Options Menu will appear.
*Choose the Safe mode option. (it is usually the first item in the list).
*Use the arrow keys to select it if it is not selected by default.
*Press Enter. The computer will start in Safe mode.
*when finished troubleshooting, close all programs
*restart the computer as you normally would

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following file, and DELETE it (if it is still present):

C:\WINNT\system32\uhldtu.exe

Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE

Finally, RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everytjhing looks now.

Are these names familiar to you?

1. Please download Winhelp2002's Deldomains.inf to your desktop.

Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select Install

Once it is finished your Zones should be reset.

Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE/Spyads, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE/Spyads, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.
Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select Install

2. Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

Now let's do some work on your log:

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Close all browser windows and RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

Place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINNT\system32\kernels32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [lrjppf] C:\WINNT\system32\lrjppf.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ControlPanel] C:\WINNT\system32\cmd32.exe internat.dll,LoadKeyboardProfile
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ControlPanel] C:\WINNT\system32\cmd32.exe internat.dll,LoadKeyboardProfile
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE

Now with all the items selected, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window and Reboot Your System in Safe Mode

*The Windows 2000 Advanced Options Menu will appear.
*Choose the Safe mode option. (it is usually the first item in the list).
*Use the arrow keys to select it if it is not selected by default.
*Press Enter. The computer will start in Safe mode.
*when finished troubleshooting, close all programs
*restart the computer as you normally would

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files, and DELETE them (if they are present):

C:\WINNT\system32\kernels32.exe
C:\WINNT\system32\cmd32.exe
C:\WINNT\system32\vxgame4.exe
C:\WINNT\system32\vxgamet2.exe
C:\WINNT\system32\lrjppf.exe

Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE

Finally, RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everytjhing looks now.

I think we should take a step backward to get some functionality back.

1. Open HJT, click Config>>Backups>>and choose the last backup created.

Click Restore and when restore is finished., REBOOT your system.

2. Finally, run HijackThis, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review.

Regards,

Trevuren

1. I would recommend that one of you stay off the system as much as possible until I can get the other cleanedup. In this case, I would like to get you cleaned up first.

2.Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

Now let's do some work on your log:

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Close all browser windows and RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

Place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

OK MeWY, this is the closest we have come to getting your system cleaned up so please perform the requested procedures as soon as posssible and return a log for , hopefully final analysis. I will then do a final clean up and we still on the other user's log. Let's try and get this done as soon as possible while the chance of re-infection is low.

First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE: (Directions already provided)

Close all browser windows and RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

Place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - 3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WindowsUpdate] C:\WINNT\System\svchost.exe /s

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following file, and DELETE it(if it is still present):

C:\WINNT\System\svchost.exe

Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE

Finally, RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everytjhing looks now.

Regards,

Trevuren
