I am suffering from pop ups, when I click on a link within web site the window that open is usually an ad or pop up search. I have ran spy bot and adaware but nothing seems to help. I am desperate :rant2: Here is my hijack log:

I do still need help…. I have figured out that the links that are on web pages are not suppose to be links. Whetever is terrorizing my system is putting them there. I also keep finding a folder named 111 in my favorites. Here is a new hijack this log:

Thanks for posting the new log.

Download and install CCleaner. Don't run it yet.

Make sure no files are hidden. To do this:

1. Click Start.
2. Open My Computer.
3. Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
4. Select the View Tab.
5. Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
6. Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
7. Click Yes to confirm.
8. Click OK.

Copy/Paste this into notepad or wordpad for reference during the fix.

Run and scan with HijackThis. With all browsers and windows closed(even this one), place a check besdie the following and fix:

Boot into Safe Mode. To do this:

1. Reboot your computer.
2. Tap the F8 button as your computer is booting to bring you to the Advanced Options Menu.
3. Select Safe Mode and press Enter.

Search for and delete the following folders:

C:\Program Files\EmpirePoker
C:\Program Files\AWS
C:\Program Files\CxtPls
C:\Program Files\Kontiki
C:\Program Files\inexplorersch

Search for and delete the following files:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllbr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\oxjpsvc.exe
C:\WINDOWS\ujfhdll.exe
C:\WINDOWS\ujfhenc.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Temp\uninstall.exe

Browse to your C:\Windows\Prefetch folder. Delete all the files in the folder, DO NOT delete the folder itself. Empty your Recycle Bin. Run CCleaner.

Reboot Windows normally and post a new HijackThis log please.

Also… can you find this file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\regsync.exe

Right click on it, choose Properties. Let me know if it says anything for Vendor info in the Version Tab.

I was just checking things out and realized that I still have the same issues I've got click2begin carp** happening. Pop up hell (especially when doing searches) and those mysterious green links that are through out web pages and when clicked take me to ads.

File C:\WINDOWS\ujfhenc.EXE was not found, I did find and delete C:\WINDOWS\system32\regsync.exe. After deleting this file, emptying recycle bin and rebooting I recieved a diolague box asking if was okay for regsync.exe to run. I answered NO and then searched for the file again but it was not found (wierd). Anyway, here is my new log:

Good Work! Your log is now CLEAN!!

To clean up any remnants that may have been left behind, I suggest doing a couple online virus scans. A couple good ones are Panda ActiveScan and TrendMicro HouseCall. Let them fix anything they find. Reboot between each scan.

If you don't have them, download Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D. Visit this page for proper configuration of Spybot and Ad-Aware. Run and scan with both, letting them fix whatever they find. Remember to reboot between each scan.

Now that your computer is clean, its a good time to reset your System Restore point. This will ensure a clean backup to fall upon if you ever need it. To do this:
  • Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  • Click the System Restore tab.
  • Check the "Turn off System Restore" or "Turn off System Restore on all drives"
Reboot your computer, follow the steps above, this time unchecking the "Turn off System Restore" and reboot.

I recommend downloading and installing SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard, and IE-SPYAD as well. You can get them from the links in my sig. The programs are free and can be updated… so please do so. Installing these will go a long way in preventing reinfection.

If you don't have one, I recommend installing a Firewall. I'm sure you've heard of ZoneAlarm.
