I keep getting these message pop-ups that say that i have critical errors and I need to go to fix-reg.com immediately. They come about every five minutes. Adaware and Spybot won't find it. The window says "Messenger" at the top and I saw something about messenger in the hijackthis logfile. Could you please read my logfile and let me know if I can delete the two instances where I see messenger or if you see anything else suspicious. Here is my logfile. Thanks.

Hello Julia, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. I need to tell you that your major problem is your are running Windows Xp without a Service Park and you have none of the critical patches needed for your Operating System or your Internet Exployer browser. From what I see everyday, it is not question of if your computer will get infected but rather when. I strongly suggest you visit Windows Updates then download and install everything critical suggested for your computer.

Now to answer your question, these messages are coming from a service that is activated on the computer that has nothing to do with any instance of instant messenger you see in your logfile. See this information to correct the issue:

What really surprises me is that this is a clean log. Beside the attention you need to critical areas of your security, Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:
