Hi kazcam, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. You have a lot of nasty stuff on this computer. It is going to take a few passes to get all of this stuff. If you want my help, please follow these directions:

1) Go to Add Remove Progams and uninstall WebsearchToolBar, HuntBar and anything else you see there you do not want on your computer. You are also running rouge software called Spyware Vanisher, if you see that there, uninstall it also. See this information: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

2) If you have either if these programs, I would still like you to follow the directions to make sure you have the newest versions, that it is updated and configured properly.
We need to run our big guns for cleaning out malware. Ad-aware and Spybot can get the areas we can't reach with the HJT tool. I am going to give you links to tutorials and it is important that you take the time to review the information, then to download, update, configure exactly as in the tutorials and remove what is suggested in the tutorials. Make notes of anything these two programs can't remove, the exact name and location of the item. Run Spybot first, if you receive any DSO Exploit notifications, ignore them and please do not activate TeaTimer at this time, once you are clean you may activate it. If Spybot removes anything reboot before running Ad-aware SE Personal.
Spybot:

Ad-aware:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial48.html

3) Let's check for trojans, run these three free online scans, scan the whole system and set it to clean or fix anything it locates. Let me know what it finds and the exact name and location of anything it locates but can't remove. You may be asked to install an ActiveX, please do so as these programs is safe and can not run without it.

Post a new log in this same thread along with any information from the scans you think I should have and feedback from you.

Thanks…pskelley

Thank you so much for your help… I really do appreciate it.

I run Spy Bot and Ad Aware regularly (twice a week) at the moment - but am forever finding problems.

I ran the scans you suggested… SpyBot couldn't remove 2 files referenced as New.net

The final scan on your list ran once (I followed your instructions a few days ago but didn't get back to put the log on the reply), so I reran it today and it has shut the computer down twice now at around 21000 files.

Also, the homepage is still hijacked.

Finally we have a problem with the computer consistently shutting down - I am not sure if it is a problem with the computer or a problem caused by the issues I'm discussing with you.

Below is my log as requested

Thanks
G'Day Mate, You are pretty infected, we will get it cleaned up but it will take a few passes.

I ran the scans you suggested… SpyBot couldn't remove 2 files referenced as New.net

I see no evidence of the New.Net hijacker, take a look in Add Remove programs and look for New.Net, if you see it uninstall it. Take a good look at the rest of the programs, if anything is there you did not install, uninstall it also, then let's do this in the order posted.

1) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

2) You have McAfee AntiSpyware running I am not familiar with it. Often Spyware programs will block HJT from making it's fix. I would turn off all anti-spyware programs when you use HJT, we need it to work!!

3) SpybotSD TeaTimer MUST be turned of, use these instructions: http://russelltexas.com/malware/teatimer.htm

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

SHOW HIDDEN FILES: Follow the instructions in the link to enable hidden files for your operating system.
You may wish to reverse this process if you have any concern about anyone getting into these hidden system files.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

c:\windows\system32\pflkkjm.exe >>> file

C:\Program Files\Spywarevanisher\ >>> folder

I see this Trojan scan onboard, if you ran it recently, then choose one of the two below. If you have not run it recently, then run it.
Let's check for trojans in case any are hiding, run this free online scan, scan the whole system and set it to clean or fix anything it locates. Let me know what it finds and the exact name and location of anything it locates but can't remove. You may be asked to install an ActiveX, please do so as this program is safe and it can not run without it.
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

Backup scans, run at least one:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/co…n_principal.htm

Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new log in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let us know how you are running.

Thanks…pskelley

G'Day Mate, I see only one item missed and that is no big thing as there were many lines to remove and some looked almost alike and the CLSID number was the only way you could really tell them apart. I am interested in the results of the trojan scan. Let's do this:

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O2 - BHO: AzEntretien Class - {0d2def3a-f4f1-42ec-ac4f-132e7ba6e292} - %SystemRoot%\azentretien.dll (file missing)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

If it's gone, post a new log for a final check. If the BHO gives you any problems, use Safe Mode to remove it:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

I will have some information to help you stay clean and safe, but for now I would turn TeaTimer back on as that gives you some realtime protection. Here are a couple of tutorials for using Spybot and TeaTimer:

Hi Karen, We are almost there. We have one BAD program we must get off your computer. Here it is and I do not know why it was not in your last log? Could you have it turned off in MSCONFIG?
C:\Program Files\iMesh\iMesh5\iMesh.exe see this information
http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p/ This is a very bad product that cause other malware to get on your computer. Please follow these directions to remove it:

Open Add Remove programs and look for iMesh. If there uninstall it. If it is not there then open your Task Manager then the Processes Tab. Locate, Highlite and end process one that item.

Locate this item and delete the folder.

C:\Program Files\iMesh\ >>> folder

If you have any problems deleting the folder in Normal mode, then take the
computer to Safe Mode and remove it from there.
Safe Mode: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

Once that folder is gone, run your CCleaner again then post a new log so I can check it.

Thanks…Phil :wavey:
Hello Karen, I have not heard from you in a week since I gave you instructions for removing C:\Program Files\iMesh\iMesh5\iMesh.exe which was very likely the source of your problems. In my last post on May 24 I asked this:

Once that folder is gone, run your CCleaner again then post a new log so I can check it.

Here's hoping you followed the instructions but since you did not post a last log for review I can't validate that fact, but I can give you some information that might help you keep clean and safe in the future if you apply it. Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

I am closing this thread in 24 hours.
