Hello BabyOp, welcome to the TC.

Download 'SpSeHjfix'. into a folder. (don't run it yet)

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure these 3 are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

Make sure you know how to boot into - SafeMode

Reboot into safe mode.

Disconnect from the net and Close ALL OPEN PROGRAMS.
Run 'SpSeHjfix'. and click on "Start Disinfection".
When it's finished it will reboot your machine to finish the cleaning process.
The tool creates a log of the fix which will appear in the folder.

Now run the CW-Shredder - Hit The FIX button!

Reboot and repeat the process above.

Reboot and post a fresh HJT log and the log that was created by 'SpSeHjfix'.
LDTate

I have complete the steps you suggested and I know have the following logs :

How does this look ? Thanks for all your help so far.
LDTate I have updated and run the following over my machine: Spybot Adaware Microsoft Antispyware Norton Internet Security Anything found has been removed. When I restart the computer and open IE for the first time I still get a pop-up (this time not porn but www.oldgames.se). Correction closed down the pc and started again and now have a porn pop-up so it seems to be one or the other. When I close down the 2 IE sessions and start again I don't get any pop-ups. Any ideas ?

Really appreciate your help.
Looks like it came back. Make sure you do this in Safe Mode and run the process twice.

LD When I ran the process in Safe Mode last time it didn't reboot my pc. All I had was an option to close the application or view the log. I take it when I run the process again I do all of this in Safe Mode ? I will give it another go and repost. Thanks.
LDTate I now have this:

When I rebooted to post the reply and connected to the net it did look as if it was trying to start another IE session but it closed.
I suggest you do this:

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Restart in Safe Mode:
Restart your computer.

If you don't know how to start in Safe Mode, clink HERE

We also need to "Show hidden files and folders." click HERE to learn how to:

Search for and delete these files if listed:
scvchost.exe <–Be very careful with this file. Make SURE you only delete scvchost.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\vbsys2.dll

Open C:\Windows\Prefetch\ Delete ALL files in this folder.

Do this also if these Temp Folders are part of your OS.

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Next navigate to the C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY LISTED USER)\Local Settings\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
LDTate

Right followed all the steps, this time no pop-ups and it didn't look like there was an attempt to open another IE session. After rebooting from Safe Mode the PC did take longer than usual to start but everything appears to be present. I have run another HJT and here is the log:

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D
LDTate What can I say, I salute you. No pop ups everything running smoothly, this has been doing my head in for a while. Never come across anywhere before where you get this level of support and such quick responses. Keep up the good work !
