Hi BillShar

Welcome to the TomCoyote Forums. My name is Trevuren and I will be helping you with your log.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

1. Go to the Tom Coyote Forums http://forums.tomcoyote.org/index.php?
.Click on My Controls near the top middle of the window (make sure you have signed in first)
.On the left hand column, click "view topics"
.If you click on the title of your post, you will be taken there
2. Also, while at that place in control panel, check the box to the right of your post and then scroll down.
Where it says "unsubscribe" click the pull-down menu and select "immediate email notification", By doing this, you will be notified as soon as I have posted a reply to your log.

3. DELETE your current version of HijackThis (It is in the wrong place)

4. Download the most current version of Hijackthis (v.1.99.1) to a folder of its own. HJT needs to be in its own folder so that the program itself isn't deleted by accident. Having the backups could be VITAL to restoring your system if something went wrong in the FIX process!

A. Please click on the "My Computer" icon, then the C: drive icon. Next Right click on the desktop and choose NEW from the list available then> Folder' and name the folder 'HijackThis'. The end result should resemble something like this C:\HijackThis\

B. Download Hijackthis from:HERE

C. Double Click on 'HijackThis.zip' to extract and install HijackThis.exe to the new folder.

D. Close ALL windows except HJT

E. SCAN with HJT and SAVE LOG. (a notepad window will open with the log in it when you click Save Log) (Ctrl-A to'select all', Ctrl-C to 'copy')

F. POST the log in this thread using 'Add Reply' (Ctrl-V to 'paste')

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS MOST OF THE FILES ARE LEGIT AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER

Hi BillShar,

I need you to run the following programs and post the resulting logs when you are finished. In other words, I need 3 reports posted at once when all is finished.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

1. Download FindQoologic-Narrator.zip save it to your Desktop.
http://forums.net-integration.net/index.ph…=post&id=134981

Extract (unzip) the files inside into their own folder called FindQoologic. preferably to your desktop
Open the FindQoologic folder.
Locate and double-click the Find-Qoologic.bat file to run it.
When a text opens, post it in a reply to your thread.

2. Download the RKFiles.zip from here:
http://skads.org/special/rkfiles.zip

Create a new folder called c:\Antispyware\RKFiles
Extract the contents of RKFiles.zip into this new RKFiles folder.

Then,

1. Reboot into Safe Mode

Restart and press the F8 key a few times after the BIOS loads – the first thing you see when the pc "comes alive" and does its "self test" – before windows loads).

2. Open the C:\Antispyware\RKFiles folder

* Locate and double-click the RKFILES.BAT to run this tool.
* Sit back and wait untill its finished.
* When it is finaly finished a text file will open.
* Save the contents of that text file.

Note: It should save by default to C:\Log.txt
* Find this log, right-click and rename it RKFiles_log.txt so you can post it later.

3. Reboot back to Normal Mode.

4. Post both logs as well as a new hijackthis log.

Regards,

Trevuren

The RKFiles.zip will not open when i try! The black box opens up then it closes instantly!!
Hi BillShar,

Not trying to be smart but I have to ask…

Were you in Safe Mode when you tried to open it?

You are supposed to unzip the file in normal mode and extract the files into the AntiSpyware folder. Reboot into Safe Mode and then run the .bat file

Trevuren
Sorry about that, i was a little hesitant about starting into safe mod b/c the last time i tired, my computer crashed! Here you go: :\Documents and Settings\William\Desktop\AntispywareRKFiles PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL FILES FOUND BY THIS METHOD ARE NOT BAD FILES, THERE MIGHT BE LEGIT FILES LISTED AND PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHILE FIXING. HI BillShar,

While I am working on your fix, I need you to relocate HijackThis into its own folder for safety reasons. The easiest way to do this is as follows:

1. Delete your current copy of HijackThis

B Download Hijackthis from:HERE

Hi BillShar

Your system has multiple severe infections. We will attack them one at a time. The first is the Nail.exe infection. After this step you will still see Nail.exe in your log. It is OK.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

1. Download and install Cleanup from: HERE. Extract it from the zip file to your desktop. Install the application accepting the defaults. DO NOT RUN IT UNTIL SO INSTRUCTED

2. Download and install a 14-day free version of Ewido Security Suite from:HERE. Update its definitions. DO NOT RUN UNTIL SO INSTRUCTED.

3. REBOOT into Safe MODE

How to use the F8 method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode

*Restart the computer.
*as soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
*Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
*press Enter.

4. Now let's do some work on your log:

First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:

Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
*choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
*uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
*Close the window with ok
*All hidden files will now be visible

Close all browser windows and RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

Place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KavSvc] C:\WINDOWS\System32\lvpinn.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [checkrun] C:\windows\system32\elitejzl32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [znnqlt] c:\windows\system32\ozihpv.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.real.com/3048786d87f3af…ip/RdxIE601.cab
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Now with all the items selected, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files, and DELETE them (if they are present):

C:\WINDOWS\System32\lvpinn.exe
c:\windows\system32\ozihpv.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
C:\windows\system32\elitejzl32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

5) Go to start > run and type: sc delete SvcProc

6. Go to start > run and type: %WinDir%\Nail.exe /FullRemove

7. Locate Cleanup through START< . Click the Cleanup Icon and when the program opens, click on the clean up button.

8. REBOOT into NORMAL MODE .

9. RUN and perform a FULL SCAN with EWIDO.

10. REBOOT your system.

11. Run RKFiles again in SAFE MODE like before and send it with the log from the following item.

12. Finally, run HijackThis and with all windows closed except for HJT, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review.

****One Thing****

My Desktop dosent look like my original Windows XP anymore…It looks like a regular Windows 98-99! What could be the problem?
Hi BillShar,

We will work on restoring your desktop to XP look after we get rid of all the infection. I really don't know at this time what happened because we didn't touch anything non-malware in our first fix which was immensely successfull.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

Download Killbox here: http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.exe and put it on your desktop

Open Killbox

Check the following boxes:

Standard File Kill
End Explorer Shell While Killing file

Copy & paste the full path of each of the files below into the Killbox topmost box.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\lvpinn.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mincal.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\qakda.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\skytown.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\winupdt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wmconfig.cpl
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ypawv.dat
C:\WINDOWS\system32\elitegoe32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\elitejhs32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\eliteuey32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\elitexix32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\eliteyrs32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DivX.dll
C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\cnkr.exe

With the full path to the file name in the topmost textbox, Click the Red X …and for the confirmation message that will appear, you will need to click Yes

Do this for each of the files listed. Some will not be deleted. Make sure you keep a list of them.

When you are through the list, use killbox to delete the files you were not able to delete as follows:

Open Killbox

Check the following boxes:

Delete on Reboot

With the full path to the file name in the topmost textbox. Click the Red X …and for the confirmation message that will appear, you will need to click Yes

A second message will ask to Reboot now? you will need to click No (since you are not finished adding all related files in yet)

Click yes on the last file.

Note: Killbox will let you know if the file does not exist.

Reboot and Post a new hijackthis log

Trevuren
