There are several infections and we start with the main ones.

Download Nikitas Tools
into a folder.

Disconnect from the net and Close ALL OPEN PROGRAMS.
Run 'SpSeHjfix'. and click on "Start Disinfection".
When it's finished it will reboot your machine to finish the cleaning process.
The tool creates a log of the fix which will appear in the folder.
Reboot and post the log.

Also download this tool: LQfix.zip
Unzip it to your Desktop.
Don't use it yet!

Reboot your pc into safe mode for all OS

Run LQfix.zip

Reboot into normal mode, make a new HijackThis log, and post it here with the SpSeHjFix-log.
Thank you so much for your suggestions! I ran the SpSeHjfix and the LQfix. Enclosed are my logs from the SpSeHjfix and my new HiJackThis log. Please let me know what I should do next…

Much appreciated,
Lisa

Well, there is not much approvement here. In fact there is a new infection. Did you surf a lot between posts?

You can do this:
Click here>>> http://cexx.org/lspfix.htm to download LSPFix. Extract the program from the zip file and run it, make sure you click the "I know what I'm doing" button. Select flsmngr.dll using the right-pointing 'arrows' and move all instances of flsmngr.dll it mentions to the Remove (RHS) side but leave everything else (it might already be over there when you open LSPFix). Click the 'Finished' button (if you exit with the X at top right nothing happens).

REBOOT to complete the task.

Please download and run this online virusscan
Be sure and put a check in the box by "Auto Clean" before you do the scan. If it finds anything that it cannot clean have it delete it. Make a note of the file location of anything that cannot be deleted so you can delete it yourself.

Can you use the latest version of HijackThis? Download here:
HijackThis 1.99.1

Run HJT and post a new log here. I will be away for this weekend. Perhaps someone else will answer to your new posts.
To answer your first question, I did not use my PC since my prior post due to all the problems I've been having. Though I did notice that now when I log on my McAfee virus scan and firewall are disabled. When I try to enable them the application just shuts down and it will not let me re-open it. I'm assuming this is due to one of the viruses I have???

Anyway- thanks again for all of your suggestions, I REALLY APPRECIATE your help!!! This PC is so frustrating lately…

I ran the LSPfix and it found 32 things to remove. Then I ran the online virus scan and 109 bad files were found. All but 3 were deleted by that program. I manually was able to delete one of them. But Open32.exe and Spoolsrv32.exe were protected or in use and I couldn't remove them. I was able to rename them so I changed their file extensions to .txt, I don't know if this will help or not.

I ran the latest version of HiJackThis and here is my newest log: (let me know what you think my next step should be - THANKS SO MUCH!! :)-

I'm assuming this is due to one of the viruses I have???

Thats right. You better not use this computer, aspecially not for sending email because the virus spread that way.

Download DelDomains
Save the file to the desktop.
Then go to the desktop, right click on DelDomains.inf, and choose Install.
You may not see any noticeable changes or prompts; this is normal.
**Note** This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone"

-Click Start>Run and type in: services.msc
-Click OK
-In the Services window find: Windows update Service (updater)
-Select/highlight and right click the entry, and choose: Properties
-On the General tab, under Service Status click the Stop button
-Beside: Startup Type, in the drop menu, select: Disabled
-Click Apply, then OK
Follow the same procedure for this service: ZESOFT - Unknown owner

Reboot, open hijack and click config, tabblad Misc Tools, "delete an NT service"

Copy and past: updater

click "OK"

repeat this for the following lines: ZESOFT

Go to taksmanager (ctr + alt + del) en end the below process:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\open32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\combop.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\combo.exe

Take care: some files can be hidden, so first go to start > control panel > folder options > view (tab) > mark “show hidden files en extensions >OK

Print this advice for in safe mode there is no internetconnection
Reboot your pc into safe mode for all OS

Your copy of HijackThis needs to be in a folder of it's own. When HJT fixes anything, it makes backups of the original files in the folder it is in. Since Temporary folders are emptied now and then (the files are DELETED), it would not be a good idea to have your backups there. Those backups would be VITAL to restoring your system if something went wrong in the FIX process!

1. Please go to you're 'My Documents' folder, right-click and select 'New > Folder' then name the folder 'HJT'.
2. Copy and paste HijackThis.exe to the new folder.
3. Close ALL windows except HJT
4. SCAN with HJT

Close all windows and open HijackThis.
Click "scan only” in the main window
Put a check beside the lines below and choose “FIX checked”.

My PC is soooo much better now!!! WAHOO, thanks again for all of your assistance! I really appreciated your time and effort. :wavey: Have a great day, Lisa :)-
Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:
  • Use an AntiVirus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future.

See this link for a listing of some online & their stand-alone antivirus programs:

Virus, Spyware, and Malware Protection and Removal Resources

  • Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.

  • Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is succeptible to being hacked and taken over. I am very serious about this and see it happen almost every day with my clients. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly.

For a tutorial on Firewalls and a listing of some available ones see the link below:

    Understanding and Using Firewalls

  • Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.

  • Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Install and download Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option. This will provide realtime spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software.

A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:

Using Spybot - Search & Destroy to remove Spyware , Malware, and Hijackers

  • Install Ad-Aware - Install and download Ad-Aware. ou should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software in conjunction with Spybot.

A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:

Using Ad-aware to remove Spyware, Malware, & Hijackers from Your Computer

  • Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.

A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:

Using SpywareBlaster to protect your computer from Spyware and Malware

  • Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.
Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.

Glad I was able to help.
