I don't think there is anything terrible in there, I run AVG, Adaware and Spybot S&D every couple of days, but it would be cool if someone could look this over for me and point anything out 8)

Cheers all
Hello Eycequeen, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. Sorry for the wait we are very busy. If you still need help please follow these directions, you do have some nasty malware on this computer.

1) When you post the next log, telll me what this is: E:\games\Lines.exe

2) Your HijackThis needs a folder to store HJT.exe, logs and backups for safety. Return to C:\Program Files\HijackThis.exe RIGHT click a blank spot and make a new folder called HJT. Move the HJT.exe and the log that should be there into that folder. It will look like this: C:\Program Files\HJT\HijackThis.exe.

3) You have a New.Net hijacking which is evidenced by the 010 items in your log. If this is removed wrong it can break your ability to have an internet connection. Follow these instructions to remove this highjacker:
http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html

4) This link is in the event of an emergency. If the instructions above are followed there will be no problems, this tool is for if there is a problem.
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Stay in this same thread and post a new log, properly positioned as described above. Post any feedback you have, there will be more to do.

Thanks…pskelley
Hiya

I know newdot.net is there, everytime I remove it, whatever it came with reinstalls it 8)) I shall go to that site and do as I need to 8)

Lines.exe is a little freeware game from www.atomax.com (kinda hoping it is not evil cos I love that game hehe)

Anyhows, this is my new log, thanx for the reply and no sweat on the wait, I'm not the only one who needs help 8)
Cheers

Hi Eycequeen, I

know newdot.net is there, everytime I remove it, whatever it came with reinstalls it 8)) I shall go to that site and do as I need to 8)

Looks like it is gone from the log, we have other nasties to get rid of yet, but first you did not follow the instructions in the first post:

2) Your HijackThis needs a folder to store HJT.exe, logs and backups for safety. Return to C:\Program Files\HijackThis.exe RIGHT click a blank spot and make a new folder called HJT. Move the HJT.exe and the log that should be there into that folder. It will look like this: C:\Program Files\HJT\HijackThis.exe.

Please do this before you proceed with the instructions, if an error is made we may not have backups needed for safety. I will also say it looks like you removed LOP from this computer at some point as there is still one item added by LOP in the log.

Follow the instructions in the order they are posted:

I located this information, if this applies to the ospitray item, then carefully pass over all reference to it unless you want it removed:
http://www.yohng.com/ospi/ospilicense.txt

1) This item: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ospitray.exe
does not identify and as such we call it a random named trojan. If you do not know what it is then we will remove it, if you do then pass over it in the removal process and make me aware of what it is. Thanks.

2) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

3) Open Task Manager then the Processes Tab. Locate, highlite and end process on: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ospitray.exe

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

SHOW HIDDEN FILES: Follow the instructions in the link to enable hidden files for your operating system.
You may wish to reverse this process if you have any concern about anyone getting into these hidden system files.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ospitray.exe >>> file

C:\DOCUME~1\Ruargh\APPLIC~1\FOURDE~1\roam knob.exe >>> left from LOP please look closely as I am not sure if you need to just delete the file or the folder FOURDE~1 you should be able to tell if it is LOP by looking, if not then delete just the file and I will see if it shows up in the next log.

I see you have a trojan scanner onboard, I would appreciate it if you would use this one that I trust. Thanks.

Let's check for trojans in case any are hiding, run this free online scan, scan the whole system and set it to clean or fix anything it locates. Let me know what it finds and the exact name and location of anything it locates but can't remove. You may be asked to install an ActiveX, please do so as this program is safe and it can not run without it.
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new log in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let us know how you are running.

Thanks…pskelley

Just a quick reply for the opsitray, it is a winamp EQ plugin 8) It runs whenever winamp does and makes my mp3s sound perfectly fantastic!! Kinda hoping that it is not troublesome hehe Also, I have created the folder as you asked me to. Just before I did the scan. What I need to do is tell hijackthis to put the logs in there, which I had changed. My fault, will do so now.
No, it is not problem at all, by all means leave it. When you post your next log I would appreciate any information you can give, a link to the software's website would be fantastic. I will have it added to our databases to avoid not being ably to ID it in the future. C:\Program Files\HJT\HijackThis.exe. I should mention if you are running HJT from this location and you have no other instance of HJT, the backups and the log once you close it will automatically go into that folder. I hope this helps. Thanks…
Hi

I could not get that Trojan scanner to run, checked my ActiveX settings and they are fine, killed my firewall temporarily and still would not run 8(

This is the link to the winamp plugin

Hello and thanks for the information you provided. The HJT.exe still does not have a folder. We still have leftovers from LOP. let's do this:

1) Download and run this uninstaller to make sure LOP is gone:
http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/lopremover.exe

2) Review the comments in red before removing anything, this is all I see in the log I have questions about.
Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

(the first three are optional…leave them if you use them)
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://google.icq.com/search/search_frame.php
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://google.icq.com
R3 - URLSearchHook: ICQ Toolbar - {855F3B16-6D32-4fe6-8A56-BBB695989046} - C:\Program Files\ICQToolbar\toolbaru.dll
(left from lop I believe)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {EE0DA531-4FA8-7F78-D282-9FD2C4C0F792} - C:\DOCUME~1\Ruargh\APPLIC~1\GPLMEM~1\road real.exe
(left from lop I believe)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Window poke] C:\DOCUME~1\Ruargh\APPLIC~1\FOURDE~1\roam knob.exe

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

You may have to enable hidden files:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

(you need to look hard at these items if they are still there after you run the uninstaller, at least the .exe is LOP)
C:\DOCUME~1\Ruargh\APPLIC~1\GPLMEM~1\road real.exe
C:\DOCUME~1\Ruargh\APPLIC~1\FOURDE~1\roam knob.exe

Post a new log. Thanks…pskelley
OK Ok ok - so I put a shortcut into the folder I created for HJK (please dont hurt me ;) )

I am not fussed by the toolbars - the lop things I removed via the uninstaller, thanX for that.

Here is my latest log.

Enjoy 8)
