Hello Papou and welcome to TomCoyote. :wavey:

You may want to print out these instructions or save them to your desktop as a text file with Notepad because we will be restarting into Safe Mode later on in the fix and you might not be able to access the Internet.
  • Prepare CWShredder for use:
    • Download CWShredder.
    • Save CWShredder.exe to a convenient location.
    • Please do not do anything with it yet.
  • Prepare AboutBuster for use:
    • Download AboutBuster.
    • Unzip the contents of AboutBuster.zip and an AboutBuster directory will be created.
    • Navigate to the AboutBuster directory and double-click on AboutBuster.exe.
    • Click "OK" at the prompt with instructions.
    • Click "Update" and then "Check For Update" to begin the update process.
    • If any updates exist please download them by clicking "Download Update".
    • You should not run the program yet so click "Exit".
  • Please set your computer to show all files.
    • Double-click the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop.
    • Click Folder Options. Select the View Tab.
    • In the Advanced Settings box, under the "Hidden files" folder, click "Show all files".
    • On the View tab, uncheck the "Hide file extensions for known file types" option.
    • Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
Boot into Safe Mode:
Restart your computer and immediately begin tapping the F8 key on your keyboard.
If done right a Windows Advanced Options menu will appear. Select the Safe Mode option and press Enter.
To return to normal mode just restart your computer as you normally would.
  • Run CWShredder:
    • Double-click on CWShredder.exe.
    • Click "Fix ->" and click "OK" at the prompt.
    • CWShredder will scan and clean your system of CWS files.
    • Click "Next->" and then "Exit".
  • Run AboutBuster and save the logs:
    • Browse to where you saved AboutBuster and run AboutBuster.exe.
    • Click "OK" at the directions Read: Important! prompt.
    • Click "Start" and then "OK" to allow AboutBuster to scan for Alternate Data Streams.
    • Click "Yes" at the About:Buster prompt to allow it to shutdown explorer.exe.
    • Please wait while AboutBuster scans your computer for malicious files. If it asks if you would like to do a second pass, allow it to do so.
    • When it has finished, click "Save Log…". Make sure you save it as I will need a copy of it.
    • Click "Exit" and "Exit" again to exit AboutBuster.
  • Clean out temporary files:
    • Start | Run | type cleanmgr | OK
    • Let it scan your system for files to remove.
    • Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.
    • Click "OK" to remove them.
    • Click "Yes" to confirm the deletion.
  • Restart your computer normally to return to normal mode.
  • Free TrendMicro Housecall scan:
    • You'll need to use Internet Explorer or Netscape browsers to run this scan.
    • Vist the TrendMicro Housecall website.
    • Select your country from the drop-down list and click "Go".
    • Choose "Yes" at the ActiveX Security Warning prompt.
    • Please wait while the Housecall engine is updated.
    • Select the drives to be scanned by placing a check in their respective boxes.
    • Check the "Auto Clean" box.
    • Click "SCAN" in order to begin scanning your system.
    • Please be patient while Housecall scans your system for malicious files.
    • If not auto-cleaned, remove anything it finds.
    • Click "Close" to exit the Housecall scanner.
    • Choose "Yes" at the HouseCall message prompt.
  • Prepare your reply:
    • Please post a fresh HijackThis log as a reply to this thread.
    • Please post the AboutBuster log.
    • Please note any complications you had.

If I may ask, how do you manage to give 7 replies in 45 minutes, when you first answer me yesterday. Sorry but I'm very curious.

If I may ask, how do you manage to give 7 replies in 45 minutes, when you first answer me yesterday. Sorry but I'm very curious.

Two things help in being able to reply to several logs in a short period of time.
1. Learning how to identify the problems and what needs to be fixed.
2. Having "canned fixes" for the problems saved on my computer. I only need to input the file names and locations into the fix and post them here.

Also, some of the replies I gave were simply asking for a new HijackThis log to get the most current info on the persons computer.

Step 1
Open HijackThis, run a scan, then check the following:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: Class - {C41C97C4-381C-E7A7-0540-CD802CC3E86A} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\CRLR.DLL (file missing)

Optional item to check with HijackThis.
Fix this line only if you did not set Internet Explorer to open at startup.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IEXPLORE.EXE] C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\IEXPLORE.EXE

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

Step 2
Reboot normally and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.
Please let us know of any complications you had and how the computer is behaving.
Hi Alsocom!
Thank you again for your precious help. And also for satisfying my curiousty, that was the only way I though you had to do to answer so fast. My computer seem to be back to its original speed and opening, except while opening it's trying to find the shortcut missing "spysub.exe", it never find it and ask me if I want to change to the closest file next to it, witch I refuse everytime. The only other problem that I have is an old one that I didn't tack the time to fixed. It came for another attack I had few weeks ago that seemed to had damaged Norton. I'm suppose to uninstall and reinstall it after getting in contact with them to know if my version is stile good. When I open my computer I get a messaage telling me : impossible to find the "gestionnaire de périphérique(sorry don't know how to translate it's in french)" to open "C\program¨1\norton¨1\navap.vxd. Then I press any key, some time it open and sometimes it giving me this message: exceeding division error (my translation) C:\window\system\vmm32.vxd , missing\impossible to charge. Then I press any key and it make me start the computer in safe mode. When I try to open Norton to find and delate that "navap.vxd" , I get the message: impossible to start "integrator".

Sorry to have take your time with all of this, I know you're doing that on your onw time, but if you can just confirm that, I would appreciate a lot.

Fix this line with HijackThis to remove the missing shortcut message:

O4 - Startup: SpySubtract.lnk = C:\Program Files\interMute\SpySubtract\SpySub.exe

If you still use SpySubtract on your computer, you may need to reinstall it.

If Norton Antivirus is not working correctly, you should definitely uninstall/reinstall it to see if that will fix the problem. If after doing this and the program still does not want to work, download Avast, Home Edition or AVG AntiVirus. These are highly recommended free antivirus programs.

Other than that, your new HijackThis log is clean.

Let us know how the computer is working after doing the above steps and I'll give you some recommendations to help keep the computer clean.
I suggest that you get these programs to help keep the computer clean:

Spyware Blaster - Blocks bad ActiveX items from installing on your computer. Spyware Blaster runs silently in the background.
SpywareGuard - Real-time protection from spyware installation attempts
ie-spyad - Puts over 8,000 bad URLs into your restricted sites for Internet Explorer.
Google Toolbar - Blocks many unwanted pop-ups in Internet Explorer.
Firefox - 'Safer' alternative to the Internet Explorer web browser.

AVG AntiVirus - Free antivirus program if you currently are not using one.
ZoneAlarm - Free firewall program if you currently are not using one.

Here are three very good and free malware scanners:

Spybot Search and Destroy 1.3
AdAware SE v1.05
Set-up Instructions for Spybot S&D and Adaware SE
A2 Squared

If you have them already, check to make sure that they are the newest version.

Update these regularly.

You may also want to read "How did I get infected in the first place" to learn how to better secure your computer.

Be sure to keep Windows and your Anti-virus updated.
