This is my first time here, so hope SOMEONE can help me out. Ran HiJackThis and got the following log…… please let me know EVERYTHING that can be removed! HATE all these darned popups and such! THANKS!!!!!!!

Please download hoster from the link below.

http://www.funkytoad.com/download/hoster.zip

Open Hoster.exe.

Then click on "Restore Original Hosts"

Close program when complete.

NEXT

Please download and run CWShredder. Make sure that all browser windows are closed with the exception of Cwshredder and choose FIX.

Then do a virus scan here >>> Trend Micro

Reboot and post a new HiJackThis log by clikcing on "add reply" at the bottom right.

Boot ot safe mode (tap f8 while bios loads) then scan with hijackthis and put a check beside these lines and choose FIX

So far. so good! No popups, yet! :) Now…..any Microsoft experts out there who can tell me how to find all unnecessary files/folder/programs and how to get rid of them without hurting the few I use? lol

Hmmmmmm I dont like playing with OS folders. Download CCleaner form the lonk below. It is good for cleaning stuff out of your temp folders IE files etc….

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. In my signature below is also a tutorial on how to harden IE, a good read and very helpful to stop these things in the future. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on.
