Hello Mike, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. You do have a few issues, if you wish my help, then follow these instructions:

1) HijackThis.exe needs to run from a permanent folder to store HJT.exe, logs and backups for safety. You are running it from a .zip file in a Temporary Directory. It is the last item in your running processes, take a look. The link will provide instructions for doing this correctly: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial94.html
Here is a video if it is needed. http://www.spywareaid.com/index.php?file=svideo&id=1

2) You are running a rouge spyware product called Spyware Begone. You can read about this item here: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm Please use Add Remove programs to uninstall this rouge product.

3) You have an infection I have not seen in a while called spydeleter. Here is a canned fix for this item, you can see it as two entries in the 09 area of your HijackThis log. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topict3332.html

4) Once you have accomplished these three tasks, post a new HijackThis log.

Thanks…pskelley

Ok, thanks for you quick response. I reinstalled the program as directed, so that should help a bit. I looked for the Spy Begone program in the Add/Remove Programs, but could not find it. The only 2 I have are SpySweeper and Spybot Search & Destroy. I also went thru the Spydeleter steps and removed 4 of the files listed (06wu29rd.exe, 449166.exe, newdevin.exe & sd.exe)

After that, here is my new log

Thanks again for your help, and I look forward to your reply

Ok, thanks for you quick response. I reinstalled the program as directed, so that should help a bit.

You are so welcome, let me say I use my HJT log all of the time, once you get used to what is in the log you will know if a change has occured in a glance. Here is a Tutorial: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/Hij…ware-tut42.html

I looked for the Spy Begone program in the Add/Remove Programs, but could not find it.

No problem we will use HJT. Usually and uninstaller does a better job but we will delete the folder if there.

The only 2 I have are SpySweeper and Spybot Search & Destroy.

Never used Spysweeper, but Spybot is on all three of my computers and has been for years. You may want to consider the TeaTimer feature. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/Usi…uter-tut43.html

I also went thru the Spydeleter steps and removed 4 of the files listed (06wu29rd.exe, 449166.exe, newdevin.exe & sd.exe)

Must have worked the item is gone. Like I said, I have not seen it for a while, used to be a real pest before someone came up with that fix. Glad I kept it on file.

Scan with HJT and check this line:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Spyware Begone] c:\freescan\freescan.exe -FastScan
with all windows closed click on Fix Checked
locate and delete this folder: c:\freescan\ >>> folder

Your log is clean, good job following those instructions. I am going to quickly point to a few items that are running and may not need to. I will give you the information, you get to make the call.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Synchronization Manager] mobsync.exe /logon

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINNT\system32\ctfmon.exe
http://castlecops.com/startuplist-795.html

I hope some of this information helps you, depends on your speed and how the computer is running. If you try any of these changes I suggest doing it one at a time and allowing a few days to see if there is any effect you do not want.

Some interesting information: http://windowssecrets.com/050127/#story1
