I have been having problems with my computer, and I just found this nail. Im not sure what to do. Ive ran spybot add-aware and I have tried to fix it with hijackthis. It keeps coming back. Also in my task manager there are several things that cycle through; and I don’t recognize them. They have strange names like ggogwz.exe and irfhtu.exe and eexkpe.exe when I end process on one another appears. I think the nail maybe changes names or something.

Hi,

Please run Notepad and copy the following text into a new file:

Nail.exe /FULLREMOVE
sc config SvcProc start= disabled
sc stop SvcProc
sc delete SvcProc
attrib -s -r -h nail.exe
attrib -s -r -h svcproc.exe
del nail.exe
del svcproc.exe
cd %windir%\system32
attrib -s -r -h DrPMon.dll
del DrPMon.dll
exit


Save the file to the desktop as remove.bat and make sure the "Save as type" field says "All files".

Next, open Notepad, and paste this into the document:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"Shell"="Explorer.exe"

When saving, click "All Files" as the Type, and save it as nailfix.reg.

Double click the file to fix Nail.exe.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on remove.bat. A window should open and close very quickly — this is normal.

Open HijackThis, click the "Scan" button, and checked the following items:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [qzavsrr] c:\windows\system32\tsbcblr.exe
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Close all windows except HijackThis, and click the 'Fix Checked' button.

Locate the following files and delete them:

c:\windows\system32\tsbcblr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Reboot and post a new log.

Step 1: make two notepad files, one nail fix to run in normal mode: success.
Step 2: re boot In safe mode and run remove note pad, window opens and closes: success.
Step 3: run hijack this and delete three files: failure, I could only find the file shell..nail in it. Could not find 04 [quzavsrr] or 023(svcproc)
Step 5:delete tsbclr.exe and svcprobce.exe: failure, could not find files. This may be because I have ran many things like add-aware and spybot and some other stuff that since my last post. Maybe the nail changed names. Or I did some thing wrong.

I await further instructions.

Hi, I forgot one part of the fix. (I thought I added it in!) Open HijackThis, click the "Scan" button and check the following item: F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe Close all windows except for HijackThis, and click the "Fix Checked" button. Locate the following file and delete it: C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe Reboot and post a new log. dk

ugghhhh no luck! this thing is tricky. it worked for a minute. but on my third scan it came back! im not sure im doing everything right, i still cant find those files to delete.here is what my new post looks like:

Hi, Click "Start –> Run." Type in %windir%\nail.exe /FullRemove. Open HijackThis, click the "Scan" button, and check the following item: F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe Close all windows except for HijackThis, and click the "Fix Checked" button. Now, rerun the nailfix.reg. Reboot and post a new log. dk

i tried it in safe mode and it did not work.
should i have tried it in normal mode?

Try this:

Download rkfiles.zip
UNZIP the contents to a permanent folder

Reboot in SAFE MODE !! Important !!
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key

Please set your system to show all files.
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Doubleclick rkfiles.bat
It will scan for a while.
Wait till the doswindow closes and reboot back to normal mode.
