Yes IE explorer is on desktop for karen and all other users as well. I just checked as her log in and verified on desktop, logged off as karen. When I logged on as me I was not able to connect to Forum server. After reboot, I was able to get to forum
Lets look at what's in the startup. click Start> Run> type in Msconfig tap enter key. look in the Startup. List everything there and point out which ones have a check next to it. Do this for Karen and for your login.
This is in my startup list and all are checked. NvCpl BCMSMMSG DSentry Activation Cyb2K hpztsb09 HPWuSchd2 hpcmpmgr hpotdd01 realsched REGSHAVE avgcc nwiz msmsgs aim NVMCTRAY Digital Line Detect NkvMon.exe Personal Coach I will post Karen's shortly
IE opens fine, I try widely available sites like Dell, Cisco or MS. I put in url and cannot connect to server: I would need to reboot and log in as me and everything is fine for my log in. Below is page display The page cannot be displayed The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings. ——————————————————————————– Please try the following: Click the Refresh button, or try again later. If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly. To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings. If you would like Windows to try and discover them, click Detect Network Settings Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed. If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0. Click the Back button to try another link. Cannot find server or DNS Error Internet Explorer
I checked one user and did not see any difference in setups However my restricted setting did have some sites listed as restricted Whereas the user had no restricted sites
Login as one of the kids.

Open notepad (not wordpad or whatever) and copy and paste next content in it (don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4 in it)

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\explorer.exe]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.exe]

Save this as fix.reg , choose to save it as *all files .

Then open taskmanager > new task and enter the filepath that you saved this reg file to (ex. C:\Documents and Settings\KIDS NAME\My Documents\fix.reg or whatever)

Let the reg fix merge with your registry then reboot & let me know how things are going.
Still no internet connection for kidz, I only merge file on on log in.
