Hello abeyr, Welcome to TomCoyote. I do see a little adware that is not needed and I will remoce it and do a good cleaning. What strikes me most is the fact that you have many, many programs running. Time constraints will not allow me to do this research for you but I will give you the tools to do it yourself. Look at each item in the running processes and establish if it needs to run for the computer to run or for your safety like antivirus, firewall and other security programs. If it does not, then consider turning it off from within the program if available or via msconfig: http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/ You would also want to look at your maintenance proceedures to make sure you are giving the computer the best chance to run well and perhaps look at how much RAM you have onboard as this is the cheapest way to upgrade. Here are the links to help you research the running programs:
http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm
http://computercops.biz/StartupList.html
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/

1) You HJT.exe is running from a Temp folder in Docs and Setting. It needs a permanent folder to store HJT.exe, logs and backups for safety. Use the information in the following link to correct this: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial94.html

2) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

3) Open Hijack this and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…/search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new log in this same thread along with any feedback you have.

Thanks…pskelley

Hi PsKelly, Thank you for the help. Followed your instructions and checked the web sites you recomended. Unchecked quite a few items out of startup and all seems to be doing fine. Abeyr
