Is This Hijackthis Log Clean Now?

Had malware and trojans but I think I got rid of everything. Ran Spybot and Adaware and scans are clean. I am concerned about the five 016 DPF entries that do not have descriptions next to them.
Does anyone know if it's normal to have that or not?
Thanks for any help.

Hello dihart22 and welcome to TomCoyote. :wavey:

I see that you are running two anti-virus programs on your computer. This is not recommended as they can conflict with each other. I suggest going into the options and setting only one of them to run at startup. You can still update the other and scan with it if you choose.

Step 1
You have Spybot S&D's Teatimer running which is good, but we need you to disable it for the remainder of the fix as it will interfere with the registry changes being made.
Open Spybot S&D in advanced mode, click Tools > Resident, and remove the check from "Resident Tea-Timer". Reboot after unchecking the entry.

Be sure to re-enable this option again once the computer is clean.

Step 2
Open HijackThis, run a scan, then check the following:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 138.20.50.6:80 << Fix only if you are not using a proxyserver
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE
O16 - DPF: {00000000-0000-0000-1234-012398761234} -
O16 - DPF: {2B96D5CC-C5B5-49A5-A69D-CC0A30F9028C} -
O16 - DPF: {41F17733-B041-4099-A042-B518BB6A408C} -

O16 - DPF: {9F1C11AA-197B-4942-BA54-47A8489BB47F} -
O16 - DPF: {D534A0F8-E0F2-4F11-8E53-345819B2451F} (Streaming VisualFX) - http://www.rmgdrs.com/update/x1ff.cab

Optional items to check with HijackThis for improved performance.
Resource hog that launches common MS Office components to help speed up the launch of Office programs. Some users claim there's no difference with or without it but it isn't required either way.
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

Step 3
Reboot normally and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.
Please let us know of any complications you had and how the computer is behaving.
Thanks so much for your help. I knew about the 2 antivirus programs and had disabled one, but inadvertently McAfee started up again. I had to install a trial of KAV to remove some things that were not detected by others [isrvs] and trojan downloader win32.agent.br among others. I intend to uninstall KAV now that it seems clear.

I had also previously tried to fix in hijack this the DPFs that you recommended fixing, but they kept coming back. This time they seem to be gone. Maybe it was the Streaming Visual FX that you had me remove that allowed the other ones to be removed.

Here's my new log and I think it looks clear. Let me know if there's anything else suspicious.

Thanks again.

Your new log is clean.:)

You can enable Teatimer again. Let me know if this causes the 016 lines to come back as this will require another step to remove them.

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove bad files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected.)

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. On the Performance tab, click File System, or press ALT+F.
3. On the Troubleshooting tab, put a check mark in the 'Turn Off System Restore' check box.
4. Click OK twice, and then click Yes when you are prompted to restart the computer.
5. Repeat steps 1 - 3, this time clearing the box beside 'Turn Off System Restore'

Now that everything is fixed, I suggest that you get these programs to help keep the computer clean:

Spyware Blaster - Blocks bad ActiveX items from installing on your computer. Spyware Blaster runs silently in the background.
SpywareGuard - Real-time protection from spyware installation attempts
ie-spyad - Puts over 8,000 bad URLs into your restricted sites for Internet Explorer.
Google Toolbar - Blocks many unwanted pop-ups in Internet Explorer.
Firefox - Safer alternative to the Internet Explorer web browser.

AVG AntiVirus - Free antivirus program if you currently are not using one.
ZoneAlarm - Free firewall program if you currently are not using one.

Update these regularly.

You may also want to read "How did I get infected in the first place" to learn how to better secure your computer.

Be sure to keep Windows and your Anti-virus updated.
Well, you were right. After I enabled Teatimer those 016 entries returned. I don't understand the connection there, why blocking registry changes brings back those entries. What would be the next step to remove them?
Thanks
Diane

These entries are remembered by TeaTimer and it tries to replace them once it is active. This is why we always recommend stopping it from running before fixing anything with HijackThis.

I'll need you to turn off TeaTimer once again to remove those 016 lines. Open Spybot S&D in advanced mode, click Tools > Resident, and remove the check from "Resident Tea-Timer". Reboot after unchecking the entry.

Download ResetTeaTimer.bat. Double click the file to remove all entries set by TeaTimer.

Fix these lines with HijackThis:

Turn tea timer back on after getting one clear log , then get one more to double check.
The link to ResetTeaTimer.bat is not working. Got a file not found error. I will turn off tea timer and fix those entries again and wait for further instructions to remove all the entries set by tea timer. Is there a manual way to do it? Thanks again.
I'll attach the file here for you to download. Edit: File failed to attach. Had to Zip it first. You'll need to unzip the file before using it. :)
Thanks, I think it's all clean now. Enabled teatimer after running the batch file and those 016 entries are gone. Learned something about teatimer and how to clear the entries for future reference too! Thanks again for all your help. Diane
