Every so often my computer will just freeze up and immediately reboot for no reason. Sometimes I can have my computer running for days and it will be fine without it ever freezing up. Then other times after a reboot it may only be up for half of a day and then it freezes up and reboots. This also happens sometimes after the computer has been running for several days without being manually rebooted. I was wondering what could cause this to happen. Here is a HJT log in case there could be something in there to reveal any problems. Thanks.

Don't see anything "bad" in your log.

Your 016 lines could be fixed. They will reinstall if they are needed once you visit the sites again.

WildTangent has had a very shady past, I usually recommend uninstalling anything from them. This is probably there because of the games you play though, nothing serious. Just be wary about them :P

As far as the reboots go… I would suspect a driver/hardware/memory conflict. By default, XP will reboot itself if there has been some sort of failure or the the system stops unexpectedly. You can change this setting, but I don't really recommend it as it could hurt more than it helps. XP does this for stability reasons.

If you do wish to change this option… right click on My Computer, choose Properties. Click the Advanced tab, then the Startup and Recovery Settings button. Uncheck the box beside Automatically Restart under the System failure heading.

As I said though, I don't recommend doing this, it may cause more problems in the long run.

One place to start looking for clues as to why this is happening is the System Event Viewer. Go to Start>Run, type in eventvwr.msc. Check the Application and System logs for errors and go from there.

Where did you hear this? I've never heard that before. Very interesting. I've always heard M$ disabled it by default in XP to minimize blue screens
Do you have a link?
Sorry… don't have a link. It was from a conversation I had with an MSMVP in a newsgroup shorlty after XP came out. IIRC, it had to do with the fact that with some BSOD's you could hit a key on the keyboard and go back to what you were doing previously. This would cause system instability.
