Hello yvonnedeverry ,welcome to the forum.

Important: Do this before any fix.

Please put your HijackThis in it's own folder, (I create a new folder in C:\ named HJT).
You can do a Right Click on any open area on the desktop, New> Folder, then rename the folder HJT.

Go to where your HijackThis is and Right Click on HijackThis.exe, select Cut, then open the new folder you just created (HJT) Right Click in the folder and select paste.

The reason we do this is Hijackthis creates backup files just in case you'd need to restore one and we'll be cleaning out the temp files.

After the above:

Download CWShredder from my signature below. Unzip it on the desktop.
Open CWShredder and with ALL other windows closed, click fix.

Go here and run at least one of the online scans, allow them to delete whatever they find:

TrendMicro HouseCall
eTrust AntiVirus Web Scanner
Panda ActiveScan
Note any thing that can't be fixed
Reboot when done.

Next:

Even if you've already run these, make SURE they're up-to-date and run per instructions.

Make sure you have the up-to-date versions of Spybot V 1.3 and Ad-aware SE Build 1.05 . All are free and available below.

Download Spybot, install and update. Then download Ad-aware, install, and update.

Spybot:

Install the program and launch it.

Go to Start > Programs >Spybot > Search & Destroy and choose Spybot S&D

Close ALL windows except Spybot S&D
Click the button to "Search for Updates" and download and install the Updates.
Next click the button "Check for Problems"
When Spybot is complete, it will be showing "RED" (RED) entries "BLACK" entries and "GREEN" (GREEN) entries in the window
Put a check mark beside the RED (RED) entries ONLY.
Choose "Fix Selected Problems" and allow Spybot to fix the RED (RED) entries.

Ad-Aware FULL SCAN:

Install the program and launch it.

First in the main window look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

From main window :Click Start then under Select a scan Mode check Perform full system scan.
Next deselect Search for negligible risk entries.
Now to scan just click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it.(Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)

Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Thank you for replying - My computer is so slow and some programs (such as ITunes) will not even launch. I called Apple and they said that this was because ITunes uses alot of memory and had me go into Task Manager to see how many processes I had going. There were 51 and I had no programs open. I am almost at a stand still here. Please advise based on the following new log file. Thank you so much.

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Restart in Safe Mode:
Restart your computer.

Press F8 after the Power-On Self Test (POST) is done. If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, try restarting and then pressing F8 several times after the POST screen.
Choose the Safe Mode option from the Windows Advanced Options Menu then press Enter.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Open C:\Windows\Prefetch\ Delete ALL files in this folder.

Do this also if these Temp Folders are part of your OS.

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Next navigate to the C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY LISTED USER)\Local Settings\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Thank you so much for hanging in there with me. I did the suggested stuff, but the computer is pretty much acting the same (slow and running even though I am not using any applications). There are still 41 processes running when I have no applications open. It also said there was new Audio Hardware found even though I have not added anything. The following is my new hijack log file:

Lets see what you have starting up.

click Start> Run> type in Msconfig tap enter.
Look in the Startup. Listed everything in there. Also let me know which ones have Checks next to them.
Thanks - the following are in the startup and checked: SNDMon, ccAPP, gcasServ, sealmon, E_S10IC2, DirectCD, ADGJDet, PROMon, GWMDMpi, Preload, GWMDMMSG, RUNDLL32, SK9910DM, msmsgs
SNDMon.exe Part of Symantec's LiveUpate (eg, Norton). Not required if you run manual upadates but probably requireD if you leave them to run automatically - hence the "U" recommendation

ccApp.exe Part of Norton AntiVirus 2003. Auto-protect and E-mail check will not function without this

gcasServ.exe Microsoft, formerly Giant AntiSpyware

sealmon.exe SealedMedia enables you to combine document protection and control with your existing applications, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Email.

E_S10IC2.exe Epson Stylus printer monitor - for checking ink levels, etc.

DirectCD.exe DirectCD primarily allows you to drag and drop files onto a suitably formatted CD-RW disc. Unless you use this on a frequent basis it isn't required and is available via Start -> Programs. Start the program before inserting a DirectCD formatted CD-RW in the drive. A re-boot is recommended if you close Adaptec DirectCD before re-opening it again later

ADGJDet.exe Added with SoundBlaster Live! or Audigy soundcards for headphone autodetection

promon.exe System Tray icon for Intel PRO series ethernet adapters giving access to the diagnostic features

GWMDMpi.exe Used with internal modems on Gateway PCs such as the 450SX Notebook. Required for audio settings to be maintained and does not remain in memory once run. See here for more information

Preload.exe Millenium Multi-Function Keyboard driver

GWMDMMSG.exe Used with internal modems on Gateway and vprMatrix PCs. This is the "GTW modem messaging applet" and is not required for the modem to work correctly

SK9910DM.EXE Multi-function keyboard driver. Allows the use of programmable keys on mulimedia keyboards. Required if you use the additional keys

msmsgs.exe is the main process relating to the MSN Messenger Internet chat tool installed by default on most Windows computers. A tray bar is also installed alongside this process for easy access to its features which include Internet chat, file sharing and audio/video conferencing. This is a non-essential process. Disabling or enabling this is down to user preference.

I would use Add / Remove Programs and remove
Microsoft AntiSpyware

I would go back into the Startup and uncheck these.
gcasServ.exe
E_S10IC2.exe
DirectCD.exe
ADGJDet.exe….Unless you use a headphone
msmsgs.exe…..Unless you use MSN messenger

Reboot and post a new HJT log.
Thanks for giveing me so much information. Still run slow, but faster than before. I am down to 41 processes. Here is my log.
