Hello vciampi, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. Whoa, you have a nice little mess here. This is going to take a little effort of both of our parts to clean it out, but if you are willing here we go:

1) To be safe HJT needs to have a permanent folder in which to store backups and logs. You have chosen the Desktop now all you need to do is point your mouse at a blank spot and make a new folder called HJT. Move the HJT.exe and the log that should be there into that folder. Like this: Desktop\HJT\HJT.exe.

2) Please download CCleaner from here: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to read the instructions on the homepage so when I ask you to run it later you will know what you are doing.

3) I can't believe anyone would download New.Net on purpose, so assuming you were hijacked, please follow the instructions in this link to rid yourself of this hijacker. http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html

4) Much of this is adware and Ad-aware and Spybot should get much of it. I see Spybot but would like you to do this: We need to run our big guns for cleaning out malware. Ad-aware and Spybot can get the areas we can't reach with the HJT tool. I am going to give you links to tutorials and it is important that you take the time to review the information, then to download, update, configure exactly as in the tutorials and remove what is suggested in the tutorials. Make notes of anything these two programs can't remove, the exact name and location of the item. Run Spybot first, if you receive any DSO Exploit notifications, ignore them and please do not activate TeaTimer at this time, once you are clean you may activate it. If Spybot removes anything reboot before running Ad-aware SE Personal.
Spybot:

Ad-aware:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial48.html

5) There are trojans onboard, lets use this free online trojan scan to kill them. Set it to clean/fix do a complete scan and if you are asked to download an activex to run it, do so as the program is safe. Let me know what it finds and especially if it locates anything it can not remove. I need the exact name and location of these item/items.
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

6) If the above scans did their job, some of these items may be gone, still continue through the complete instructions.

7) Here are items we are after:
C:\Program Files\Windows AdStatus\WinStat.exe
C:\DOCUME~1\Ciampi\IMPOST~1\Temp\bundle.exe
C:\Program Files\Windows AdStatus\WinStatKeep.exe
C:\DOCUME~1\Ciampi\IMPOST~1\Temp\searchbarcash.exe
C:\Program Files\Internet Optimizer\optimize.exe

Open your Control Panel then Add Remove programs. Look at the items above, if any of these are there uninstall them.
Now open your Task Manager and under the Processes tab, highlite and end process on any that are there.

8) Scan with HijackThis and check the box in front of each line item:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows then click on "Fix Checked"

SHOW HIDDEN FILES: Follow the instructions in the follow link to enable hidden files for your operating system.
You may wish to reverse this process if you have any concern about anyone getting into these hidden system files.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT click on Start then click on Explore, locate and delete these files and folders if there:

(You may delete all files in this folder, NOT THE FOLDER, just all TEMP files)
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS~1\Ciampi\IMPOST~1\Temp\bundle.exe >>> file

C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS~1\Ciampi\IMPOST~1\Temp\searchbarcash.exe >>> file

C:\Program Files\Windows AdStatus\ >>> folder

C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\ >>> folder

C:\WINNT\switpa.exe >>> file

c:\winnt\system32\saie.exe >>> file

Now run CCleaner, then restart the computer. Post a new log in this same thread along with any information I asked for any any feedback you think I should have. We may have more to do.

Thanks…pskelley

Hello vciampi, I must apologize as I did not notice you are running an outdated version of HJT. The new version shows a little more so would you please update it like this: Open HJT > Open the Misc Tools section > Scroll to Check for update online > Follow instructions. Then use the new version to post the next log. Thanks.
You Sir, have done a great job of following those rather complex directions. If you have an interest in learning more about this proceedure for yourself or perhaps even to help others I should point out that free training is available. I did expect to spend more time on your log and since you have saved me some I will use a bit of it showing you a few of questionable programs you have running that might save you a resource or two. These items are starting every time you boot your computer and the information may help you to make better decisions.
