Hi fidoux!

I'm 'KotaGuy, and I will be helping you with your HijackThis log.

First thing I need you to do is update your old version of HijackThis to the newest version 1.99.1. You can download it directly from here.

Extract it to its own folder, eg: C:\Program Files\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe, DO NOT run it from a temporary directory or from the zip. This is very important!

Remember to uninstall/delete the old version.

Please do a virus scan with one or more of these online scanners.

TrendMicro HouseCall
e Trust AntiVirus
Panda ActiveScan

Let them fix anything they find, remember to reboot between each scan.

Download and install the newest versions of Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D, you can grab them from the links in my sig. Once installed, make sure you update the programs. Visit the Ad-Aware/Spybot Instruction link in my sig for proper configurations for the programs. Scan with each, fixing anything they find, rebooting between each scan.

Once you have done the above, run HijackThis, scan and post the new log please.

Please update to the newest version of HijackThis(v1.99.1). You can download it from here.

Uninstall/Delete the old version.

When you have downloaded the newest version, remeber to extraxt it from the zipfile into its own directory(eg: C:\Program Files\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe). Again, this is extremely important. HijackThis creates backup files and cannot do this when run from a temporary directory, zipfile, CD, etc.

Once you've got the new version in its own directory, rescan and post the new log please.

OK… you got the newest version, but you are still running it from a temp directory…

You need to run it from its own directory. It cannot create the backups if you don't.

Sorry, but I will not go any further into the fix until you have HijackThis in its own folder so it can properly create the backup files. Again… this is extremely important.

Please create a folder on your C:\ drive called HijackThis and move the program into the newly created folder. Once you have it in its own folder, please close all other windows, run and scan with HijackThis and post the new log.

Please print this out for reference during the fix.

Boot into Safe Mode… to do this:

1. Reboot your computer.
2. Tap the F8 button as your computer is booting to bring you to the Advanced Options Menu.
3. Select Safe Mode and press Enter.

Make sure no files will be hidden… to do this:

1. Click Start.
2. Open My Computer.
3. Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
4. Select the View Tab.
5. Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
6. Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
7. Click Yes to confirm.
8. Click OK.

Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up the Task Manager. End Task the following processes:

MediaAccK.exe
TBPS.exe

Reboot Windows normally, and with only HijackThis running, scan and post the new log please.

I perfomed all the tasks possible. In safe mode, upon hitting Ctrl+Alt+Delete, none of the tasks you requested I end were present.

I was able to remove Viewpoint Manager, Media Access and Win Tools, although Win Tools said it was an uninstall program.

I was unable to fix (locate) 8 of the 20 items in HJT. I was unable to find the folders and files you requested I delete, but this could be to my not knowing where to look. I did run cleanmgr ok.

Boot into Safe Mode.

Search for(Start>Search) and delete the following folders:

C:\Program Files\BullsEye Network

Search for(Start>Search) and delete the following file:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\uxtvccda.exe

When doing the search, select your C: drive from the dropdown menu, type in Toolbar, BullsEye Network, and uxtvccda in the text field(seperate searches for each folder/file, dont try to search for them all at the same time), and hit enter. It should find the folders and file you need to delete.

Clean out your Recylce Bin and Temp files.

Reboot Windows normally and post the new log please.

Hi 'KotaGuy These bugs got brains. I am unable to delete them. When I try and EndTask them, they just pop up again in another part of the list. When I try and remove the program, it says unable to delete while program is running. Shut down program first!!!! I really appreciate you hanging in there with me and I'm sure the folks following this story do too. What's next?

Try following the steps above again. This time though, instead of trying to End Task the processes with Task Manager, open up HijackThis, click the Open the Misc Tools section button. Click the Open Process Manager button. Hilite the processes in there, and click the Kill Process button. If that works, continue with the fix. If not… scan with HijackThis and post a new log please.

Ok…. seeing as how these things keep starting each other up as you End Task them, lets try this differently.

Hit Start>Run, type in services.msc. Look for a service with the name WebSeach Toolbar support NT service or something like it. Double-click it to open, then click on the Stop button and change the Startup type to Disabled. Do the same for ZESOFT if it is there.

Boot back into Safe Mode. Once there, Hit Start>Run, type in regedit, and hit Enter.

Browse to this Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Delete the WinTools entry on the right. If there is a TB_setup or TBPS entry here, delete them too.

Next, select the subkey Explorer\Browser Helper Objects, delete the whole subkey with the name {87766247-311C-43B4-8499-3D5FEC94A183}.

Finally, find the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services and delete the WinToolsSvc subkey. Reboot Windows normally.

Once back in Windows, click Start>Run, type in regsvr32 /u /s "C:\Program Files\Toolbar\toolbar.dll"(quotation marks must be used). Exit the command prompt window.

Should be able to End Task these now so…. bring up the Task Manager. End Task the following:

TBPSSvc.exe
TBPS.exe
uxtvccda.exe
PIB.exe
radio.exe
bargains.exe

Go to Add/Remove Programs, uninstall any of the following you see:

Bullseye Network
MSIETS
Internet 404
Tools for Internet Explorer
Search Toolbar
Web Search Toolbar
Win-Tools Easy Installer

Run and scan with HijackThis. With all other browsers and windows closed, place a check beside the following and fix:
