Hello SHARYN, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. Please do not start multiple posts. Stick with the first one and when you are contacted by a HJT team member you can ask your additional questions if you wish, the multiple posts add to the confusion and slow down help for everyone. Thank you.

1) You HJT.exe is running from a temp zip file. We must have a permanent folder to store backups for safety and logs. Please use these directions to do this and it may not be safe to proceed without this being done:
http://russelltexas.com/malware/faqhijackthis.htm

2) These two lines are Broderbund\PrintMaster but both have missing files and as such will not be performing properly. I will remove them and you should should look to reinstalling them if you use this software.

3) I see references to Norton AV and also Command AntiVirus. I wish to make sure that your are notrunning two antivirus programs at the same time.

4) SCAN with HijackThis and check the box in front of these lines:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: ToolHelper - {CDEEC43D-3572-4E95-A2A5-F519D29F00C0} - G:\Broderbund\PrintMaster\Toolbar.dll (file missing)
O3 - Toolbar: ZeroBar - {F5735C15-1FB2-41FE-BA12-242757E69DDE} - G:\Broderbund\PrintMaster\Toolbar.dll (file missing)
O16 - DPF: {084F552D-19EB-4668-9788-984CBC781A8F} - http://survey.otxresearch.com/Preloader.dll
-TrojanDownloader.OTXloader.A (NASTY)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows then click on "Fix Checked"

Empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Stay in this thread and post a new long along with your comments.

Thanks…pskelley

Thanks for the help. I am a newbie and computerly challenged. After checking back on the site today, I noticed individuals posting in their reply that they had a Hijack log downloaded ready for review, were being answered. I then placed another thread with the description reflecting that.

I have done as you have requested. I now have a HJT folder on my c drive. I have placed the original log in the folder as well as the before and after logs from today.

I am not using Print Shop or Borderband currently so I will reinstall after this mess gets cleared up.

I am only running Command Antivirus. My computer came to a screaching halt about 8 months ago and the AV program which was recommendeed to me was Command. I have tried on many occasions to delete the NAV without any success. I purchased Norton 2005, placed it on my computer and that was the beginning of my problems 8 months ago. Don't understand it as the 1998 - 2004 versions worked great but 2005 was horrible IMHO.

I have run the scan as you suggested. I did not find the records for the items in G:., so I could not delete them. They may have been deleted when I ran spy sweeper earlier this morning.

The new log follows for your review and examination:

Your helpfulness and response is really appreciated. I won't attempt any more corrections until I hear from you. By the way, I DID attempt to see if the problem was fixed with the animation and graphic downloads using IE. Unfortunately, the problem is still there. However the Firefox Browser, which I downloaded yesterday is running GREAT and is allowing me to download the items I need so at least I can get my work done.

Have a fun weekend. :)

Sharyn, One of the very bad trojan downloader:
O16 - DPF: {084F552D-19EB-4668-9788-984CBC781A8F} - http://survey.otxresearch.com/Preloader.dll
is still in this new log. Did you somehow miss checking this item?? It is the only 016 line in the log.

You have a lot of http://my.netzero.net/s/search?r=minisearch
Did you download something new??
Please so not download anything until we are sure you are clean. I am preparing another set of instruction for HJT and will post them as soon as I hear from you about the above questions. Keep in mind malware may have nothing to do with your issues.
Thanks…pskelley
Oops…do you wish the Norton/Symantec software removed from your computer?

I see you have dropped ofline, I will give you instructions for HJT prior to receiving the information requested.

Please make sure you check the 016 line as it is likely a real problem. Some sort of trojan downloader, when you finish please post a new log along with the information I requested above.

Open HJT and click on SCAN then check the box in front of these lines.

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows then click on "FIX CHECKED"

Empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Post a new log. Thanks.
I must have misses the 016 line the first time. I think I highlighted it but did not put a check on the box

I would really like to get all of Norton off my system. Is there an easy way I could do this?

I am NOT using Netzero anymore and haven't been doing ANY searches on it. What's causing that?

Here is the most recent log:

I just tried to log onto animationfactory.com. The same problem continues. It's not showing any animations, and when I try to save the item, entire "save as" screen locks up and I get the "end program" screen from IE. Also I don't think I mentioned this to you when it tries to save, it saves it as a "png" file instead of a "gif". I phoned the company and was told that the options they have (and I have with Firefox) are either gif or bmp. They said they have NO CLUE where the "png" extension is coming from.
Hello Sharyn, I am concerned about removing items from Symantec/Norton because of the Services you have running at the bottom of your log. I suggest you look in Add Remove programs and choose anything that has to do with Norton or Symanatec and uninstall it from there. If this does not work, then contact Symantec for their removal instructions.

I can see nothing in your log that should have anything to do with the graphics issue you are having, and perhaps it is a Windows issue not related to malware. Here is a link to one of my favorites groups and someone there may be able to help you with the issue. Join free, make sure not to display an email address and set your email preferences so you can view messages online. If you don't do this you will get many messages…lol. Look at the posting guide: http://groups.msn.com/computingsolutionsce…guidelines.msnw and give them as much information as you can then post your questions here: http://groups.msn.com/computingsolutionsce…aphicspics.msnw

Here is one thing you can try to see if there is an issue with a windows file that is causing the problem. Make sure you have your Windows Xp CD available in the event you need it. Click on Start, then Run. Type: sfc /scannow into the run line. Please note there is a space after the c and before the /. Now click ok and allow it to run and it will take a while. If it locates any damaged or missing files you will be given instructions for repairing the item. I am also wondering if this issue could have started with the Windows Xp SP2 installation. Here is some information:
What you should know

If you believe this may be the case, I would suggest you call Microsoft, they have free help for SP2 issues.
