Hello snarkus and welcome to TomCoyote. :wavey:

The item that you referred to is a BHO for Microsoft Money. As the file is missing, the item can be fixed. If you use this application, you will need to reinstall it.

Step 1
HijackThis needs to be placed into a permanent folder as it creates backups of everything fixed and you won't want these on your desktop. Go to Start > My Computer > and double click on C:. Now right click an open area and click New > folder and change the folder name to HJT. Move HijackThis from the desktop into this new folder.

Step 2
Open HijackThis, run a scan, then check the following:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

Step 3
Reboot normally and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.
thankyou can I safeley remove these toolbar lines, as I donot use the toolbars? O3 - Toolbar: Norton Internet Security - {0B53EAC3-8D69-4b9e-9B19-A37C9A5676A7} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\AdBlocking\NISShExt.dll O3 - Toolbar: Norton AntiVirus - {42CDD1BF-3FFB-4238-8AD1-7859DF00B1D6} - C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll also I do not use realplayer, so can this be removed O9 - Extra button: Real.com - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\Shdocvw.dll I'm also wondering what this service is: O23 - Service: PrismXL - New Boundary Technologies, Inc. - C:\Program Files\Common Files\New Boundary\PrismXL\PRISMXL.SYS I emailed New Boundry and recieved the following reply: Prism is a product that is used mainly by network administrators to package and deploy software on systems for which they have responsibility. It is also used by a few computer manufacturers in their manufacturing process to pre-install software on the systems they're building. Some of the configuration changes may even specify New Boundary Technologies, but it only does so because our software was used to make the configuration changes. We don't have any knowledge or control of what changes are actually made by the computer manufacturers.

can I safeley remove these toolbar lines, as I donot use the toolbars?

O3 - Toolbar: Norton Internet Security - {0B53EAC3-8D69-4b9e-9B19-A37C9A5676A7} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\AdBlocking\NISShExt.dll
O3 - Toolbar: Norton AntiVirus - {42CDD1BF-3FFB-4238-8AD1-7859DF00B1D6} - C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll

also I do not use realplayer, so can this be removed

O9 - Extra button: Real.com - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\Shdocvw.dll

You can remove these items, but they will do no harm in leaving them. You will need to reinstall the programs if you would ever want to use those options in the future.

I'm also wondering what this service is:

O23 - Service: PrismXL - New Boundary Technologies, Inc. - C:\Program Files\Common Files\New Boundary\PrismXL\PRISMXL.SYS

Everything I can find on that item states that it is legit, but doesn't show what it actually is. This is the best I could come up with for you. http://www.spywareaid.com/023l.php?action=…h2&name=PrismXL

Open HijackThis, run a scan, then check the following:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

I suggest that you get these programs to help keep the computer clean:

Spyware Blaster - Blocks bad ActiveX items from installing on your computer.
SpywareGuard - Real-time protection from spyware installation attempts
ie-spyad - Puts over 8,000 bad URLs into your restricted sites for Internet Explorer.
Google Toolbar - Blocks many unwanted pop-ups in Internet Explorer.
Firefox - Safer alternative to the Internet Explorer web browser.

Update these regularly.

You may also want to read "How did I get infected in the first place" to learn how to better secure your computer.

Be sure to keep Windows and your Anti-virus updated.
