What is OmniPass? Do I need it?
What can I install for maximum protection of my computer?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Hello gininmyteacup, Welcome to TomCoyote forum.

What is OmniPass? Do I need it?

I would say that password security is important.

What can I install for maximum protection of my computer?

Once we finish with this cleanup I will have this information for you, and you are not in bad shape now.

1) HP has cluttered up your browser so you can see lots of HP adds, and I will remove the search junk. If you want to keep it, pass over it, not malware just clutter.

2) Read about this item: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE
http://castlecops.com/startuplist-180.html

3) and the 09 Web-Related items: http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/pest/pe…px?id=453073177 There is much information available via a Google search, I consider it a resource waster at the least and most folks do not even know they are wasting the resources.

4) I suggest you do this: SCAN with HijackThis and put a check in front of these lint items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://srch-qus9.hpwis.com/
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://srch-qus9.hpwis.com/
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://srch-qus9.hpwis.com/
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://srch-qus9.hpwis.com/
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://srch-qus9.hpwis.com/
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://srch-qus9.hpwis.com/
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://qus9.hpwis.com/
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE
O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows then click on "Fix Checked"

You may have to search for this one, I think it is C:\Programs, RIGHT click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete this file:

ALCXMNTR.EXE >>> file

Empty the recycle bin and restart your computer. Stay in this thread, use ADD REPLY not New Topic. Post a new log along with any feedback you have for me. If you are still clean I will have the information you asked for.

Thanks…pskelley
