PS have done the virus scan and adaware runs in safe mode and this is what im left with
Hello scavinski2002. :wavey:

You have SpyClean on your computer. This program is on the Rogue/Suspect list for providing false positives work as goad to purchase and poor scan reporting. Read about it here. I recommend removing this program with Add/Remove Programs.

I see that you are running two anti-virus programs on your computer. This is not recommended as they can conflict with each other. I suggest going into the options and setting only one of them to run at startup. You can still update the other and scan with it if you choose.

Open HijackThis and check the following:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.yahoo.com/search/ie.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://search.yahoo.com/search/preferences…ferences%3Fp%3D
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

Scan again with HijackThis and post the new log as a reply to this thread.
Please let us know how the computer is behaving.
Hi there Well while i was waiting for help my machine decided to go to the great silicone chip valley in the sky!!!!! I had suspected my motherboard of doing some nasty acts to different components over the last 6 months. I had replaced three seperate sticks of memory as they had failed causing some grief, but the final blow came last friday night. Major catostrophe. Backup hard drive failed…….officially dead. Main hard drive corrupted…..rescued…whew!!! (many thanks to Dave the computer tech) as the last time i managed to get my machine up and going for a few minutes I attempted to make a CD back up of critical business files, I was confident that it had worked but later i was to find that the copy was not carried out. Remedy Part one: Take one gigabyte motherboard and attempt to set new record for long distance circuit board throwing. (Actually i took it out to the garbage bin and said a few choice words). Rescued processor as my wifes machine runs the same AMD1900. Rescued last surving stick of memory, four sticks officially terminated by the @#*(#( motherboard. Part two: Go to computer parts dealer and buy new ASUS motherboard, new AMD 3000 processor, new segate HD and of course new memory for MB. Sit down rebuild machine, install operating system and proceed to consume some six to eight hours of time and $600AUD for parts. Epilogue It will be a cold day in Hell before anyone can convince me to buy another GIGABYTE motherboard. I know many people will sing the praises of this brand but as they say "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!!!" Thanks for the help but unfortunately the machine died before we could do anything for it. Regards Scavinski
Sorry to hear about the computer failure. Good luck with the new Motherboard.
