Alrighty…I tried dilligently to figure this out and thought I had taken care of the "bad" 09 files. However, someone just "took over" my computer (tests or surveys.com, something that just poped up), changed my home page, and just over all pissed me off!! Thank you for all of your help, here's my log - file that is, I'm a girl!

Before we do anything, please move HijackThis into a permanent folder. It is important that you run HijackThis.exe in its own folder so the backup files that HijackThis file will create will not be accidentally deleted on reboot.

Open 'My Computer', then double-click to open C:\ (or the drive letter that your Windows is installed)
In the menu bar, click File–>New–>Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis". Now you have C:\HJT\ or C:\HijackThis\ folder. Put your HijackThis.exe there, and double click to run it. Scan and post a new log.

Download FxAgentB.exe fromhere and save it to your desktop. After downloading, double-click the FxAgentB file to run it and the program will scan your entire hard drive - this may take a while. When it is done, it will generate a log file called FxAgentB.log - save that information as you will need to paste it here later. Reboot when done.

Next click here to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'.

Then click here to download Ad-Aware SE and install. Before scanning click on "check for updates now" to make sure you have the latest reference file. Click "Start", select "Perform Full System scan" and "Next" to start the scan. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

Reboot when done, and post a fresh hijack log along with the FxAgentB log.

I also need you to do something else;

Launch Notepad, and copy/paste the box below into a new text file. Save it as FindFile.bat and save it on your Desktop.

dir C:\WINDOWS\system32\??anregw.exe /a h > files.txt
notepad files.txt

Locate FindFile.bat on your Desktop and double-click on it. It will open Notepad with some text in it. Please post the text here.
Thank you so much for your help!! :wavey: I have followed all of your directions and the new HJT log (after rebooting) is here, along with the other things which you asked for.

Finished Scanning
Do you have Kazaa on your machine? It isn't recommended as it comes bundled with spyware.

Are you using an evaluation version of Spysubtract.. is it scan only?

Have you tried adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy, they are free for personal use and are available here and here

I see you have Spykiller, if you haven't paid for it then you might want to consider uninstalling it see here

Run hijackthis and click the scan button, when it has finished scanning then put a tick against the following, close all other browsers and windows and click 'fix checked'

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Idmexd] C:\WINDOWS\system32\??anregw.exe

Then reboot into safe mode, you may have to enable hidden files and folders

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ivvto.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\??anregw.exe <— please right click on the file and click properties, if there is any information with regards to Microsoft Corporation on the version tab then do not delete.

Reboot and post a fresh log please
My new log.

I also ran a registry cleaner with Fix-It Utilities and found many of the Kaaza things. We don't have Kaaza on our machine, but did at one time (MANY moons ago).

Your log file looks clean now… are your problems resolved?

Here are some suggestions to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future. I strongly recommend installing the following :

Spyware Blaster - It will prevent most spyware from ever being installed.
Spyware Guard - It offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
IE-Spyad - IE-Spyad places over 4000 web sites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
I also recommend reading this article written by Tony Klein How did I get infected in the first place
