Please check my log. The look-today tool bar has been popping up whenever I open IE. I tried several programs - MS antispyware, Spybot serach & destroy, CW Shredder, Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster among others. I have North Internet Securty installed but nothing works. The tool bar has been there for months and I begin to think it is part of the noraml set up! Thanks

Hello robertalo. :wavey:

Are you using SpyDetector on your computer? This program is on the Rogue/Suspect AntiSpyware list here.
C:\Program Files\SpyDetector\spywatcher.exe

Step 1
HijackThis needs to be unzipped into a permanent folder in order to save backups just in case something goes wrong. Go to Start > My Computer > and double click on C:. Now right click an open area and click New > folder and change the folder name to HJT. Extract HijackThis from the zipped file into this new folder.

Step 2
Open HijackThis, run a scan, then check the following:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Show Vc Film Bib] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Okay Remote Show Vc\helpknob.exe

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

Step 3
Please set your computer to show all files.

* Double-click My Computer.
* Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
* Click the View tab.
* Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
* Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
* Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
* Click Apply, and then click OK.

Step 4
Please delete the following folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Okay Remote Show Vc

Step 5
Reboot normally and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.
Please let us know how the computer is behaving and if you still have SpyDetector on your computer.
Hi Alan, thanks for the help. I followed your instruction until Step 4 when I tried to delete the folder and received an error message saying "cannot delte curb name blue;it is being used another person or program. close any program that might be using the file and try again" I did not have any other program opened at the time and there is no other user on this PC. However, when I reboot the PC and open IE the annoying look-today tool is gone!!!! (for now at least). I have also deleted the SpyDetector folder which was empty and it is not showing in my Program Files anymore. Here is my new log and I hope it is now clean and thank you again.
