LDTate Thanks for the encouragement.I have a question should i turn system restore back on?And if not if something does go wrong how else could i restore my system?Just in case i screw something up.I also have all the mentioned things at the end of your post.But my firewall and virus scan are mcafee.Should i change to ZA. and AVG would they be better.THANKS ED

Read my post again. You turn it off, reboot and turn back on.
Turn off System Restore:
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Restart your computer, turn it back on.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Click Start> My Computer, select the Tools menu and then Folder Options, after the new window appears select the View tab…]
This time select the: Restore Defaults
Select: Apply, and click OK
